I've seen him in concerts many times and he is more than incredible. You go to his concerts to listen to him singing, in Nightwish that would not be the case that much, he is too good for Nightwish.

Not to say that he is "better" than Nightwish, because I do not think that is the case, but only that he is too good to take a second billing role in Nightwish where Floor, clearly, is the star attraction. I recognize that he is the kind of performer that needs to have top billing. He wouldn't fit in with the Nightwish story.

@@christomashofski9160 Jarkko Ahola and Nightwish are both best in their league, you can't just say Nightwish is better. As a singer Jarkko is too good for Nightwish, he is one of the best in the world. He has no vocal training what so ever, he is a natural talent, he sings opera as well as heavy as anything on the scale. Floor in her own is the best in the world and nothing would be better than hear them sing together, or just imagine Tuomas writing music to Jarkkos voice. Yes my thoughts exactly when he started singing. There will have to quite a bit of give-and-take because he has a VERY big voice. He's plays bass guitar as well correct? I like him he really has the chops. This was the first time I had heard him, very impressed!!

I totally understand, because I had the same feeling when Tarja was fired. Still they were just as good in 2013. Different but still awesome. So, don't give up yet. I know no one can really replace Marko, and Kai can't really replace Jukka's stage presence, but they might surprise you when they get their new bassist. I just hope they don't try with session bassist only, and let Troy sing Marko's parts, because he has way too conventional voice for fill those boots.

@@mstewart109 I dont care about the octaves really. What makes a good singer is more than just what notes they can reach. Total respect to Dimash for his range, but personally I havn't even enjoyed anything I heard Dimash sing. Tim Frost had the widest range, and lowest note. Did not make him the best singer in the world either. Impressive and deserves respect, but there is so much more to it.

First of all, that’s completely subjective. At the very least they’re pretty much equal. And even if he’s not as good as Marco, no one said this is a competition. This is a conversation about whether or not he could replace Marco in the band. But of course, people like you are never satisfied until you put down somebody in favor of another person. Everything is a competition.

Nobody can replace Marko as-is because he has unique combination of voice and bass skills. The question is who is a worthy replacement. It currently seems that Jukka is going to play bass in the future and if Yannis were available, I'd guess Nightwish would be happy to have him as 2nd singer.
