Jarrod Radnich performs his arrangement of a three-movement fantasy suite of music from the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN hit movie series and as featured at Disneyland! This new work is part of Jarrod's Virtuosic Piano Solo Series, with three distinct stand-a-lone movements ending with... well, see for yourself!
Disney commissioned Jarrod to be the “Pianist of the Future,” creating original arrangements and featuring him performing them ‘virtually’ at Disneyland-but he had always wanted to further develop the works to include additional themes and variations more conducive to a concert setting. Now, after having won a life-threatening battle with cancer, Jarrod returns to KZbin triumphant and stronger than ever, finishing what he had set-out to realize. He sincerely thanks each and every person across the seven seas who has supported him with positive thoughts and prayers, to God who has watched over this odd and amazing journey called “life”, to the doctors and nurses who fought alongside him, and to his family who continually put his needs above their own.

@@Nicooo Yes, Hungarian Rhapsody is very nice. But it was also composed back in 1847, 173 years ago. If you're holding that piece up as peak piano composition/skill, then why has the musical sphere been unable to surpass it? Don't y'all have schools to study music at? Do you guys practice? Even the Olympics don't have unbroken records that old. What I find uniquely appealing about Jarrod Radnich is that his approach reminds me of George Gershwin in that they both took classical convention and blended it with the current musical styles to create a fresh and unique sound. What I find uniquely unappealing is when people show up going bUt WhAt AbOuT fRaNz LiSzT aNd HuNgArIaN rHaPsOdY. I'm sick of reruns. Get back to me when Franz Liszt covers "Don't Stop Believing".

@@Koutsoupias6 I would agree, and would add that classically trained pianists perform music that is not merely more difficult, but more robust. Mr. Radnich attracts listeners who are outside of the music conservatory bubble. He arranges popular movie themes, which is a central reason why he has such a throng of adoring fans. Although his arrangements are impressive, he plays it very safe harmonically. Case in point, the 2nd "slow" movement of this piece, which begins at 3:25.

Agreed! I just heard a "James Pavel Shawcross" rendition of this piece tonight, and as well as he plays Claire de Lune or Beethoven's 3rd movement of Moonlight Sonata, he can't hold a candle to Jarrod Radnich on this composition. The only thing else I would say about this rendition is that the Mason & Hamlin piano used here was not in the same league as the famous video of Jarrod playing this on a Yamaha grand piano. I have no "skin in the game" related to any piano manufacturer and I know; it could have been partially related to the microphones used for this recording but to my ear, this Mason & Hamlin sadly lacked in the bottom end.

I've watched this many times now and it never gets remotely old. Very much proves that you can take "even' movie music and make something absolutely complex and spectacular out of it. I suspect many even overtly and virtually exclusively hard core classical snobs would enjoy this, if they ever 'demeaned' themselves to hear it. You know who you are. My father is one, actually, and he enjoyed this. :-)

People who don’t play the piano likely don’t know how much arm muscles this takes. I don’t personally know this arrangement (yet) but I’ve played performance pieces that have segments on par to parts of this medley. And man, do your forearms get sore. To do this for essentially 8 min straight it crazy!

At least the rest of the original comment was certainly positive, so I'm not knocking the original commenter, it's just that they DON'T bother to think about how that kind of comment comes across to thinking people (wrt "religion").

@@MrJdsenior thats where you're mistaking this comment. While according to him talent is given by god, talent is nothing without practise. All the child prodigies arent just born knowing, they had to practise hard, although it was easier for them to get to a higher level than other children. Dude was just saying that he received great talent, he never said said anything about his practise. Some people cam practise all day and never get it, thats where talent comes in. The definitions of the 2 words is also quite different

THIS performance falls into the second category. Glad you are back performing, but most of all, just glad that you are doing so much better.
