I am an American who is fascinated by British accents, but they can be hard to pinpoint. I listened to Cocker speak in this video, and I thought, hmmm, he sounds a little like the downstairs staff on Downton Abbey, so that means he hails from Yorkshire or thereabouts. [Googles and confirms. Indeed! I was right.]

Not too far off. Downton downstairs is mostly north Yorkshire, Jarvis is south Yorkshire. They're a bit different, but somewhat similar accents.
