We think it's ironic how Jason and Elizabeth were so hard and judgemental on Sam during the whole incident with Jake's kidnapping, that she watched and didn't say anything because she was heart broken and suffered an emotional breakdown caused by their web of lies. Now, Elizabeth without any reason, justification or excuse except for her jealousy and envy her actions almost caused this baby's life. If she would have told the truth from the beginning maybe things would have not escalated as they did and Jason would have had more time with his son. But no, once again, Elizabeth true to form had to use her manipulations and even Jake's death to make sure that Jason signed the divorce papers. She was freaking unbelievable. We only hope that after this whole mess in the future Jason doesn't cut her any more slack, stop defending her and making excuses for her behavior. Furthermore, we hope Jason learned form this whole ordeal that it's never a good idea to confide in Elizabeth. She has shown that she would always have a hidden agenda when it comes to Jason and that she would always crossed any boundaries without thinking of the consequences because that's the type of person that she is. We truly hope that he remembers this incident so Jason would never trust Elizabeth again. Unfortunately, he would always have to deal with her because of Jake but that doesn't mean he has to trust her. Hopefully, the writers would not make him look like a dumbass by allowing him to keep making the same mistake with her over and over again. Blessed be!

Although Sam confided and kissed McBain, he wasn't trying to sabotage a chance of reconciliation between Sam and Jason. However, Jason hated the idea of Sam confiding in another man about their issues yet saw nothing wrong with telling all of his marital problems in the very same woman who had already ruined his relationship with Sam once by convincing him to lie and betray her. He also saw no problem in him having Elizabeth as a confidant basically flaunting it all around town for Sam to see yet bristled at her turning to the one friend she had because her husband had no interest in talking to her, Jason completely shutdown on Sam and shut her out. The one accurate thing Heather Webber said in this scene is that their marriage deteriorated due to Jason's pride. He couldn't get passed Franco or McBain while flaunting Elizabeth in Sam's face. I do think he regrets all of it though. He knows he failed Sam when she needed him most and did things that added to her pain and made the situation worse. Last year right after Sam ends things with Drew and he gets in the fight with Jason, when he is sitting with Sam at the police station talking, he makes a reference to how he knows he hurt her badly and given another chance, he'll never hurt her like that again. I think Jason was talking about this period of time. Also, Jason hasn't been nearly as friendly with Elizabeth since his return. He doesn't provide her with any of his personal life details that don't pertain to Jake, when they do talk she does the majority of it, and he always looks like he wants the conversation to be over even before it's begun, so there's definitely been a shift in the way he interacts with Elizabeth. Plus, now that she's Mrs. Franco Baldwin, there's no way he's ever touching that again under any circumstances.

Jason loved/loves Sam. He was willing to marry Elizabeth for Jake's sake but he didn't love Elizabeth. He was sacrificing his happiness with Sam for the love of his son.

javon lambert Jason has never wanted to marry Elizabeth out of a love for her but only obligation, he did love Jake but it never made him stop loving Sam. The thing that destroyed Jason & Sam’s relationship was the daily lies and the complete betrayal of trust which Jason did at Elizabeth’s request because she wanted to ruin Jason & Sam since not even having his child can make Jason love & want Elizabeth over Sam due to the fact that Sam’s the one that Jason actually wanted to have kids with unlike Liz who he accidentally knocked up due to a faulty condom, the fact that Sam doesn’t need to be pregnant to have the love of Jason, and the last fact is that he may have offered to marry her out of obligation but he never did whereas Jason proposed to Sam several times & did marry her is cold hard proof that Sam is the one he truly loves and not Elizabeth. Also, it cannot be ignored that this entire moment takes place after he told Elizabeth that he wouldn’t be with her because of the danger of his life to her kids but a marriage & family is exactly what he wanted with Sam which was why Elizabeth switched the DNA test, btw.
