Great video! Really been waiting for one of these since Christmas. Would be super keen to see some more FC430 action in the Hauraki and maybe some pointers on how to find work ups and channels to fish at different tides. Thanks for your content and education.

I am always wondering if there is an easy excess point you can reach without a 4wd? The only one I know of is the rocks by the gannets but I would really like to try the waves from the sand beach not too close to all the surfers and tourists.

There is a couple of entry points coming in from the back side but unsure how close you can get to the water or needing a 4x4 - Wilsons road is one and think there is another. If you want to do a 10min walk you can park down pass the golf course then walk over to the beach and walk right pass the stream - you may find a little spot you can fish away from the main crowd.

You read the sea just like me brother.. its hard to explain.. but you can semi predict the incoming tide while it's coming in. I fish Scott's ferry Beach on the west coast.. in-between foxton and wanganui

Your videos inspired me to drive down to the sand at Muriwai. My word, it's like another world out there! Loved it. How long do you normally spend fishing there?
@Reel-Kiwi-Fishing2 жыл бұрын
Hi ma It is a very special place Muriwai - I've been fishing it for over 40yrs since the mid 70's. Even if I don't get a lot of action I would still pick it over a good fish day on the east coast. I fish it mainly through the low tide so around 6-7hrs or will do a full day from a low over the high then back to the low so can be 13 - 15hrs. tight lines

are you able to drive out during high tide? or do you have to stay 2 low tides for muriwai beach?
@Reel-Kiwi-Fishing2 жыл бұрын
I like to drive the beach half tides as the sand is a lot harder at the waters edge then - so I normally go half tide out then back off half tide in or wait through the high and back off again the other side - you can drive the softer sand but puts a lot of stress on the vehicle. Tight lines
