Hi team! 💜 Hope you enjoyed the setup 😄 It was nice having a journal setup this season that didn't take too long, while still coming out with some visual interest 👌 Hopefully if you like to keep your journal more minimal in terms of decoration, the ideas in this one can be useful for you!
@m105chelleАй бұрын
Very cool ❤😁 I did a simple setup for a friend for december and it's such a nice breather when I think of my own journal being too complicated again 🙈

I love that you do this for him. It’s really an act of service and I’m sure that he appreciates it. Also, I absolutely hate when my second line highlights don’t look straight so I spend the time to use your tip of masking and that gets them to look crisp. Forget the haters, you and your bujo spreads are awesome.
@JashiiCorrinАй бұрын
Heck yeah for crisp lines 👏 Love the masking trick, it's so helpful 😄

Oooh, right at the moment I was worried that bullet journalling was becoming too overwhelming for me, and I wanted to go back to the very simple stripped back setups that I started with six years ago, you drop this video!! It's like you read my mind ^_^

7:53 😂 good for them! Jess, that future log would take me about 30 minutes to do, so I am in awe of 13 minutes. Geez, the things people make a competition are silly. 5 minutes or 13 minutes, Vogel appreciates what you do for him! I think it's a sweet way to show you love him.

Thanks! 💜 I’m really glad he likes it 😄

I am much closer to Vogel's style of bujo than anything else (basically just stickers and doodles as decoration, and everything else is just whatever pen was to hand), so this is more useful for me than the usual bullet journal video!

I love watching you set up journals for your partner. It’s been kind of hard for me to admit to myself, but although I am a very creative person who loves to have everything in my life be handmade and aesthetically pleasing and impressive, I’m at a point in my life where my mental health and schedule don’t allow me to set up elaborate spreads and keep up with using lots of different art materials to fill in my journal. For years I have beat myself up for not using my journal consistently, or more often beginning to set up spreads and being unable to finish them because I made a mistake and couldn’t correct it well enough that it didn’t bother me. I have so many grandiose theme ideas when I go to set something up, and it’s so hard to tell myself that for future me’s sake, I need to keep it simple so that I can be consistent. My crippling perfectionism is particularly bad when it comes to bullet journaling, and I’ve only been able to start letting it go by consuming less fancy bujo videos and start watching more content that reflects what my current ideal journal looks like. I hope that once I can be consistent in my own journal, I can go back to enjoy content with intricate bujo themes while maintaining what works for me.

Love it! This is more my style of journal that I work with--I'm with Vogel on the weeks as boxes. It helps me to see what the whole week has in store, even though I don't keep many calendar details in there. I adore seeing the complicated, beautiful layouts, but I know I won't keep up with it. I did try using sticker paper for printing page headers, and that made a HUGE difference in how I perceive it!

This was a blessing for me. I used a layout similar to this one to help me track my content next year. I was having a hard time deciding how I was gonna do it, but this really helped me figure it out. So thank you and thank you partner for the inspiration 🥰

2025 is the first year I'm drawing out my own weekly spreads. I have a Hobonichi Day Free, so I was going to use a ruler and count boxes. It had NEVER occurred to me that there are stencils to make these boxes for me! I went to oopsadaisy and ordered some (and told them you sent me). Thank you in advance for saving me a ton of time (and likely ensuring I get my spreads done before I need to use them.)

I admit, I like this one as well. Though, I'd like to mention that with the don't forget page, I was taught by a life coach if you say 'Please Remember', your brain is more likely to do just that. Honestly, I've found it works for me. Even just saying the words, please remember then what it is I need to remember, and I do. Positive reinforcement ❤

I actually love seeing a stripped back journal. Like you said, we all (that is, we bullet journal lovers/creators) see sooo many different ideas & layouts online and think “ooooh I want that in my journal” but honestly, do we really use them? I’ve actually removed weeklies from my journal for 2025 because I found that a monthly calendar alone is good enough for me and it saves me 4 spreads a month ☺️🙈

I am actually interested in two things: how do you do stickers? And... is his name really Vogel? Like the bird? Or is that a nickname? I find it interesting how words like that and names develop and travel to different countries...and maybe he has a story to his name?
@JashiiCorrin27 күн бұрын
His name is Vaughan really 😊 Vogel is just a nickname from highschool 😛 The stickers are just typed out in Microsoft Word using free fonts I find online, then printed on washi sticker paper and cut out using scissors 👌

@JashiiCorrinАй бұрын
Glad you like the ideas! I find that starting with a list of what you want your journal to do for you and then finding layouts to fit those specific needs is a good way to start. It helps us to not overburden ourselves with stuff we might not actually end up using 👌 if it’s in inspiration in terms of themes, just go with whichever one sparks the most joy at the time 😂 we can always catch another theme later 💪

Do you consider yourself a maximalist when it comes to planning? You’ve mentioned before that you prefer no white space. Also have you seen Erin Floto’s video from yesterday showcasing the 7 different types of bujo-ers? I found it very helpful
@JashiiCorrinАй бұрын
I haven't watched that one but I consider myself more maximalist leaning than minimalist, but I also think that the terms maximalist and minimalist don't tell the full story 😛 E.g. you can be max/min in terms of supplies, decoration, page filling, etc.

I love the gorgeous creation of Subnautica, but being so terrified of water, even in games, I never get very far. First shark and I am out! :joy: Valheim and ARK both had bad situations. Friends didn't know how much I hated water. we were traveling on a raft in ARK. on of the bigger creatures came up and started pushing us, to the point I fell off. I noped and ran away from my computer :joy: First time we came across A Sea Seroent in Valhiem, I turned and screamed bloody murder. :joy: the panic I had. And yet.. one of my favourite games is Bioshock.. >.> LMAO Trapped in an underwater city that is crumbling and its meant to be a horror game.
