Truly a great and informational 1-hour discussion full of humor and satire. Javed Jaferi is truly a multi-talented person and one of the most memorable actors of my childhood. And the Andaaz-e-Bayaan of Atika was truly mesmerizing just like her beautiful smile. I wouldn't have minded watching it for another hour or so. One humble request is if you could also consider doing this event, Jashn-e-Rekhta, in Pakistan as well. At least once.

Yes, Urdu means military in Farsi. My understanding is that the creation of Urdu was very important for communication in military. Urdu is mix of Farsi and Hindi. And it has been immortalized by poetry.

Urdu is not even a language - It is just vocabulary. The original language was Hindustani. This is how an Englishman used to communicate with the locals - Aap ko kya problem hai. A Mughal would talk to locals like - 'Aapko kya takleef hai'. Notice the word takleef which is just a vocabulary. All the grammar and composition of Hindustani comes from Sanskrit with Sanskrit, Persian and a bit of Turkish/Arabic as vocabulary. What Muslims did was to replace more and more Sanskrit vocabulary with Arabic and made everyone believe that Urdu is their language. How would you say in Urdu - Aapka naam kya hai, Aap kaha ja rahe hai, Aap kab aaoge. Mai bhi chalu. There is not a single Arabic, Persian and Turks in the above sentences. Muslims hatred for the locals and their superiority complex has made them believe that Urdu is their language by just replacing the Sanskrit vocabularies with more Arabic, Turkish. If you replace English vocabulary with Hindi vocabulary and start calling it 'Hinglish' then it won't necessarily become a new language.

Javed Saab was absolutely correct if you pronounce urdu language correctly then you can speak any language quiet easily. I myself has learn Quran & urdu language till 10th standard & now I can speak hindi, marathi, english, gujarati, bengali, punjabi & bhojpuri & obviously urdu besides I can read also this languages except bengali, so that's the hidden gem of Urdu language...
