The reason why this happens so frequently regarding the national budget is because MAGA Republicans haven't wanted to pass a national budget. They've been passing temporary budgets that require them to re-evaluate the budget and vote for its extension every few months. MAGA doesn't know how to govern or work together with other parties. They also have plans on cutting social security, Medicare, and possibly raising the retirement age to 70. Besides citizens paying towards social security and Medicare... companies pay a portion as well. By cutting these social services, they help the rich. The President elect and Elon Musk, a wealthy private citizen who has not been elected to public office, both used their influence to pressure House Republicans to renege on the deal they agreed to. Congress is supposed to serve as one of the checks to the President's power, not his right hand. The House Speaker cannot or will not do his job without the explicit approval of the President-elect. That is chaotic.
