Thanks for posting the video and for the kind remarks! We're happy that you are enjoying your clock. If you add just a little more weight, you should be able to keep it going during those high humidity days.

So I click the link ready to buy me a cool clock..., then I see you have to put it together, Lol !!! I have a nice clock collection and this beauty sadly won’t be in it. Thank you for showing us and you are very crafty putting it together. Looks awesome

It's actually very easy to put together. The parts are all laser cut and you don't even really have to do any sanding. The hard part was actually tuning it up to run right. That took months, because you have to wait a day or more to see if it's fast or slow.

If it's "stopping" in the heat (wood doesn't expand very much (temperature-wise), but will swell with humidity), you might try to add 15 g to the weight driving the clock in increments till it continues to run without fail. You will be compensating for friction is all. The John Harrison escapement is really cool with wider pendulum swings as well, so that extra weight shouldn't cause too much trouble for you.

Actually I need to fix a tight axle. There's not enough weight to overcome that while still keeping the right speed.

@@jasmine2501 Ahhh. Forgive my two cents. :D I love clocks, especially yours. That escapement is my compleat favourite. You got the "pop-out" model, eh? Which axle is the toughy?

@@thomashughes4859 I thinki it's fun to discuss this stuff and get the info out there. You never know who might benefit from these comments. I'm pretty sure it's the escape wheel that is sticky. I can hear it squeak sometimes just a little bit. I made it in such a way that it easily comes apart, so it wouldn't be really hard to go in and fix it. But honestly I've been thinking just letting it run for ten years will break it in just fine. It has been getting better.

@@jasmine2501 Great. I am designing a 12-hour clock with the JH escapement. ALL four wheels are the same radius. The pendulum is 3 mm longer than 1 meter. IF I can get the JH (grasshopper) to work light enough, I'll use a double weighted pendulum of only 30 cm to do the 59 beats I need. Thanks again for sharing your vid.

Hi i was wondering if you could tell me how tall this clock is from top to bottom of weight when all the way down please if possible.
