The way Brennan is characterizing the FBI, I'm thinking that they probably wouldn't have just released Jason and let him get on with his life, if Jason had turned down the deal, and decided to let Carly take her chances in court! With Jason presumed dead, they could have kept him locked up until he agreed to cooperate! Carly can start preparing for court by finding out all there is to know about the incriminating recording! It can't be deleted, but maybe it can be discredited, rendered inadmissible!

@@pattygarcia3504 when she made her comment it would have meant that neither of their kids would exist, Jason does care about his children and Carly as well so of course he said that. Look at when he talked about the life he wanted he held Carly, he could have let go and made his point.

I like Jarly as well but we all know he won't be with her while Sonny is alive. He'd never betray him that way, even though Sonny wouldn't show him the same respect. If its a choice between Brennan and Cates I'll pick Brennan. That being said Jason would always be my first choice for her.

@@pattygarcia3504 He said he liked the way they are now, they would be different people if they had gotten together back then (wasn’t that in March?). Plus, this was before the “…and the I let myself think about you” tattoo story. Last week, we just had “…and you behind” with a broken voice while holding Carly’s shoulders, before he talked about getting the only life he wanted back. Then Monday, Spinelli just equated Jason’s love for Carly to his love for Maxie to make it clear for the audience. Jason doesn’t just see her as a friend.

@@Nataku007 it's the writers choice, Jason was with Carly way before sonny. It shouldn't matter if he chooses to follow his heart over a friend who knew how Jason felt and still came into the picture, sonny wasn't being a friend but a jealous punk.
