Imagine going to the theater in the 60s like "what the fuck is an argonaut" and then you see this

Only those well-versed in Greek mythology at the time would have known who the Argonauts were. There's even a type of cephalopod called an argonaut.

I do miss when movies were made this way.

You can see Harryhausen's influence in Sam Raimi's movies. Edit/Note: Imagine watching 'Jason and the Argonauts' at a movie theater, maybe a drive-in, when it first came out in 1963!

That's why you always have someone in the party with a mace. Skeleton's are weak to blunt damage.
@judsongaiden9878Ай бұрын
Right?! I was thinking basically the same thing, just not specifically a mace. Anything blunt will do, and it doesn't even need to be too heavy.

Practical special effects and stop motion need to come back to the big screen. No matter how well CG is done, you can always tell it's CG. You can tell if something's obviously stop motion too, but it still has a lot more charm to it and it somehow feels more 'real' and physical than CG ever could.

Totally! Ray Harryhausen was one of Sam Raimi influences, and Sam Raimi was one of Quentin Tarantino's influences.
