thank you SO much for sharing this, Jason... i can't claim to be your number one fan or anything like that, but i was and am still blown away by your overall musicality and ability to create... you weren't just some hotshot lead guitarist who played a zillion miles a second, you could also compose incredibly complex pieces with seeming ease... and your dedication to your craft, to this day, leaves me in true awe of you, good sir. thank you for continuing to share your gift with the world!

Since Jason hearted this I'm hoping he sees this as well, but I'm not fortunate enough to see you play live because I'm too young. I had heard your name before I saw your story and I was just blown away by the sheer passion and musicality of your compositions and I wondered why nobody was talking about it because I thought it was some of the best music ever released. A couple months later and I have listened to all of your songs and I hope you never give up and stop making music.

Jason's talent is unbelievable! I believe that during this period of late 80's-early 90's, he was the most exciting guitar player around. What I wouldn't give to have half his talent
@meytecc86012 жыл бұрын
We need to stop calling this talent. It's a cheap excuse for all of us. The man practiced his butt off for years and years, countless hours. That's how one becomes that good. We need to appreciate the dedication, not some mystical "talent".
@idk9637 Жыл бұрын
@@meytecc8601exactly. He used to play his guitar between bites at dinner and bought a little guitar so he could play at stoplights. He lived for the guitar. Thats why he got so good. I dont even really think talent exists. Sure some people have perfect pitch and long fingers but thats pretty much as far as musical talent goes. And that alone wont make u a musical genius or a virtuoso
@NeonAstralOfficial Жыл бұрын
I think you understand the concept if “talent” in this context. You just kinda brush it under the rug It means someone as talented as Jason Becker has to practice less to get to this level than someone who is less “talented” (less musically inclined naturally) would take 3 times longer. So yes Talent is a thing. Someone who has more potential iow more talented will learn faster and be better in shorter amount of time
@idk9637 Жыл бұрын
@@NeonAstralOfficial i disagree with that. Every guitar legend says they played 12+ hours a day every day for a decade+.. every single one. Talent doesnt exist. At least not to such an important extent. That hard work is why they are as good as they are. I grew up not even listening to music really. My first year of playing guitar at 19 i practiced 10+ hours a day every day. My guitar was never not next to me. Id wake up and immediately grab it.. id bring it and play in the car while my mom was driving.. its all i did. and a little past the end of my first year i could play the entirety of far beyond the sun. Not because of talent.. its because i put in the work. Same as all the people u view as talented.
@NeonAstralOfficial Жыл бұрын
@@idk9637 We can agree to disagree but still, I want you to know that I admire you and you just inspired me to play more. Thanks brother, hey if everyone though exactly the same world would be a boring place. Much love

Jason, always know that people appreciate your talents and your fighting spirit. I still have the guitar pick and personal message from your family after sending support your way. I put it in my photo album to always remind me of you. I have a friend who's father was diagnosed with ALS and I told her about your story, how long you have battled it and what you have still been able to achieve with it. Your story serves as inspiration so thank you so much.

Honestly, the 2nd half of this song on the album, though fairly straightforwardly constructed, has to be one of the most emotionally resonating arrangements I know on guitar. Largely happy, with a dash of nostalgia melancholy for the great things achieved that have since passed into history, both in my lifetime and yours..like happy tears I guess. Rich

It’s a strange thing to say as this album came out in 1991 but I’ve always seen the album A ‘lil Ain’t Enough, and Drop in the Bucket in particular as it’s the last track on the album, as the true end of the 80’s and 80’s rock. The fade out at the end makes me visualise the 80’s waving goodbye as it disappears into the sunset on its skateboard!
