I did mention this earlier and everybody said I as full of it.. 3rd smallest squad in league, and it's value had increased 290m more than we paid for it excluding academy players. Started with 20 including 3ckeepers sold torres and mendy absent while on trial.. Liverpool squad was 25 players plus the likes of kheler Jones ect, in fact a cross all completions klopp used 39 players last season, pep used 28 a cross the season.

Granted, success isn't *fully* dependant on money spent and that alone; but, the point still remains that if money has such little impact then why spend the amounts he has in the first place. Obviously, Pep has felt that by spending more he's getting a higher quality of player.

The PL and CL are the big prizes that every team wants above all else, which is why they’re season defining, and in some cases, era defining as it was for LP to win the PL in 19/20 for first time in 30-years. And, God willing (lol), when MC finally win the CL for the first time, that will absolutely be just as era defining as LP’s PL win, perhaps even more since City have never won the CL

In the 20/21 season, Man City played in all but one game and that was the FA Cup final. They won the Carabao Cup and the Premier League and lost narrowly to Chelsea in the Champions League final. But they werent touted as the best PL team of all time. The truth is that Man City played with a very small squad this season. They lost Torres in January. Jason Cundy should listen to himself when he says that Liverpool is the greatest team of all time but unfortunately they were beaten by one of the best teams in decades. The reality is that the PL manager of the year consistently finishes behind Pep every season bar one when Man City had a huge amount of injuries. This year Klopp had a better and bigger squad than Pep and once again came up short.

Some Liverpool fans are talking trippe.... City have 3 squads... Tosh, city have 20 players of which 3 are goalkeepers... The difference is, 17 of our outfield players ar all of equal quality.... We have the 3rd smallest squad in the league. We spent 100m on greilish, but generated 55m for torres and 42.5m on other squad players, so a net spend of 2.5m, Liverpool spent 39m on konata, 40m on Diaz... Its a myth Liverpool don't spend money. 75m on vvd, 74m on Allison, 58m on keita 35m on mane, 39m on salah, these players didn't come through the academy they was purchased by klopp who 3 years ago said I'll never buy football players at these fees... The difference is Liverpool have been a selling club for years then spend it, city allowed our players to be bought, stay forvyears and alot if the time leave for nothing. Aguaro, kompany, yaya, milner, fernandinho, David silver, that lol alone sold at their premium would have generated 300m in income so the net spend would be different.... Its football city generate money so we spend it as our owners don't take 1p out of club.

If LFC season is a failure what is United and chelsea seasons a catastrophic. LFC had to sell eg; Coutinho to help fund buying other players eg; Alisson/VD which was great business which is why our net spend is low in comparison to City/Chelsea and United. These pundits are a joke. No one gave Liverpool a chance at the start of the season to compete for the PL title. Every pundit went for Chelsea / Manchester City. The disrespect every time even though we've been in a quadruple conversation and competed in every game we could. Lost 4 games out of 63 games, 2 cups, 92 points (1 point behind the champions Manchester City) and reaching the CL Final can never be a failure. It was a disappointing end to the season as an LFC fan but not a failure. More people care about Liverpool losing than their own team winning. #YNWA 🔴⚽️❤️

There is no question that Premier League is the priority for LFC, it always has been and always will be, but you have to understand what Klopp was trying to do here. LFC didnt start the season well, dropped points to Chelsea, Brighton, Brentford, WHU, City even at home, and it looked like the league is out of reach, so Klopp went for the domestic cups and Champions League, but turned out that the team was also able to mount a charge for the EPL, which was brilliant. So is it a great season? No, because we didnt win any of the big trophies. But 2 trophies is still good, and we did have a great 2nd half of the season in both EPL and UCL, so it is what it is, we didnt win those 2, but we go again next season.

Most of you pundits didn’t even have LFC a top 4 place at start of season.. Without doubt LFC have had an amazing season just falling short of a record breaking one.. Without LFC the premiership would have been over months ago & we would be crowning City champions in February or March. You’ll be wishing LFC won the title in a few year when City roll off another 4 or 5 titles.. In reality LFC shouldn’t be finishing above City Utd or Chelsea with there spending. That Liverpool team was tipped by all pundits for top4 last season, went toe to toe with a team that's had an extra 500m net on its playing squad, come from 14 points behind to make it interesting, literally 1 var call in their favour for the title separated it in the end. Went to a CL final and dominated until an unbelievable slice of luck from a shot that ended up being a perfect cross. Won 2 domestic cups in klopps first attempt in several years because he never had the squad. Its actually unbelievable what that team achieved and a bit of luck for instead of against and its a different story. But rival fans who won nothing and take social media Liverpool "fans" opinions on board to make themselves feel better about how bad their own teams are, if Liverpool fall short what is your team doing? The question should be about man city and how bad their season was, winning the league as expected buying it isn't respected by any opposition fan, not winning a cl with all that oil money when that was the only reason pep was brought in is a bigger story than an underdog doing well

Typical Manchester City hate! The reality is if/when Liverpool sign Salah, Mane, or they're replacements... They're spending will be on par with that of Man City's. In fact, even after signing Haaland & Alvarez. City are positive in net spending for 2022, with the sell of Torres, and other players. And when Jésus/Sterling/Acké/Zinchenko/etc are sold this summer for much more than they signed for. Man City's net spending will be miles in the black. As those players will join a long list of City signings. That turned out to be bargains! Because of how shrewdly City operate in personnel decisions!

It was a good season. They went for the quadruple till the last day of each competition and won 2 of them. City weren't this close to a quadruple even though they won a treble a few seasons ago. Not a Liverpool fan, but you gotta give them props for being that consistent throughout the season. Losing by one point to City with such a budget is not a minor feat.

Andy can't stand giving Liverpool any credit 🤣 Liverpool have had a brilliant season, last year getting into champions league with the injury issues the team had was klopps greatest achievement in my eyes. Then this season he comes back and is literally the closest any manager in modern history has come to achieving the quadruple, the bloke is a genius and deserves respect. The staff and players under him would do anything for him and they have been brilliant all year, genuinely can't thank them enough for doing what they do for this club.

The closest any team got to quad, city was virtually as close last season, but for Chelsea beating City in fa Cup and champ league we had to settle for prem and league Cup which is a better season than Liverpool had this year ha but nobody talks about that... Exactly last year wen the quad was on fir city everybody said its bad for football if a prem team wins quad as it wud just show how dominant that team is, yet when Liverpool was in with a bit of a shout the media and pundits was begging it.... They had to win both cups on pens, didn't score in final, didn't beat a top 4 side all season, they had one of easiest runs in knock out stages compared to Madrid who had psg Chelsea City Liverpool, and they didn't beat city to the title, they won the fa Cup which was decent but city won league Cup for last 4 years in a row and everybody says its micky mouse cup blah blah blah until your lot won it, and now your the greatest prem team in history.. Haha don't think so.. Very good team yes, good achievement yes, but nothing special, Leicester won cup last year and look where they finished... Yes you was 1 point behind city but being honest city battered you both home and away so that would have been extra 4 points to city and 2 less for your lot... Well done to both city n Liverpool for good season, but Liverpool team deffo isn't best in prem era, it wasn't even the best prem team of last season 😂😎😊😋😁

It's disappointing to have not added either the prem or champions league to the haul but to have played in 3 finals and take the title race to the final day is something to be proud of. As for City they are an outstanding team and they deserved the league because they was the best team over the course of the season, I whole heartedly congratulate them and I'm looking forward to more battles for major honours ahead.

I fully agree its not a failure as a team to win the 2 trophies you did, but if as Liverpool fans claim (not you) that this is greatest Liverpool team and best prem team then yes its a failure cos you didn't win the 2 major trophies... This Liverpool is an excellent team I fully accept that, they are good to watch and win games, so that's why throughtout the season the manager and players at City have consistently said how much Liverpool pushing city has made them a better more hungry team, its just unfortunate for this Liverpool team that they have had their good period at a time when they up against city who have won 4 titles in 5 years and 6 in years, however, even tho us city fans don't like the champ league, I do think that to be regarded the best team in world they do need to finally conquer the champ league, even tho most fans personally would take the title every year. As a liverpool supporter who watched almost every game.. I can tell you this is definitely not a failed season... a missed opportunity to get two huge trophys and potentially a historic quadruple YES.. however to see your team play such fantastic football and to be so close, with hope in the heart to win so much until the last two games is priceless. We lost in the end to city who potentially are the best prem in history (win success % of city is unreal) and then to Real who just simply were not to be beaten (in the final we played so well)

I was on a train after we lost to real and my carraige was full of United fans getting in my face about it etc but it was gas because they landed at 6th which isn't bad considering they had such a terrible year of football.
