This is the most powerful song ever written. He is a genius and is the best song writer of our generation hands down. This tune gets me EVERY time.

Isbell is a songwriting genius....best on the planet in my opinion. His last six albums are all stupendous great. He's the real deal.

Jason’s songwriting is fantastic. My favourite song changes on a daily basis but Last of my Kind, Songs That She Sang in the Shower and Live Oak are always in that rotation.

It’s so tough but I always say if I had a gun to my heads it’s Live Oak

@@mikenicholson2672 Live Oak was the first song of his that I heard. It completely stopped me in my tracks and led me on a mission to discover more.

If you guys were 65 or older… maybe it would hit a little harder! For me this song is very tough, because of my mom, and how it ended for me. You never know. I am going to see Jason in a little over a month. Can’t wait!!! I expect to wipe tears from my eyes three or four times.

Great reaction to a phenomenal songwriter. Listened to this song countless times with my dad, never knowing that I would eventually lose him to brain cancer.

Well done gentlemen. My first time watching your reactions. It sounds like you are familiar with Jason but if you haven’t heard it yet his “If we were vampires” is a well written tune to make you think.

Jason Isbell is always a 10! This man is an inspiration and inspired me to write music. My only criticism is you said he don’t have enough emotion in his voice while he chose to build up emotions.

Awesome reaction from Malaysia. I love this song because like you said his writing make me transport to that situation and is kind of ignoring The Elephant in to room. Subscribe

Dude on the left hears the F word and grins through some of the most crushing lyrics ever written.

Yeah, we reacted to a silly song prior to this, so I was in a goofy mood. But once I realized what the lyrics were about... ☹️ And I agree with you. Some of the most crushing lyrics ever written. Heartbreaking stuff, but a damned good song. 👍-Joel

@@KnightscastStudios I also feel like that line is intentionally supposed to be misleading. Like you hear that not knowing how emotional it is. That like is literally an out of place funny way of putting it making your forget the elephant of the fact that she’s dying. Isbell is a genius songwriter, and if he wanted it to flow and be more solemn in that line he’d have used a different word
