I didn't even know Mallrats was Jason Lee's first movie. I loved his character. That was his first movie? It's no wonder he's got so many projects, the dude is a natural talent.

Thank you so much for preserving this, this is amazing. The interviewer asks great questions, and this is so great to see Jason Lee caught on tape when he was just starting out. I just discovered he was a skateboarder, and watched his videos, and his charisma showed back then. I then rewatched Mallrats for the first time in 30 years, and hoped to find an interview with Jason Lee about Mallrats, and here it is! I'm also a huge Tom Waits fan, I think my only upload on here is me doing a Tom Waits cover, so kudos to Jason for his good taste.

Tom Waits? I had to Google who he was talking about. And yeah he's right. I for sure have seen him pop up in different movies as different types of characters, but I always assumed that was Ron Perlman.
