Hi The Song is in the Key of B and Jason uses a Harp in E (2. Position). He also uses Overblows, so it´s not easy to play. One of the best living Harp players at all, Wow !

Thanks bro.

He is not of this earth. He was sent here to teach earthlings to play the Harmonica with more soul. Bless You Jason for the wonderful feelings you share with that tiny instrument.

anyone who criticizes this example of harp playing is simply jealous or ignorant. Great technique mixed with emotion = the real deal.

I'll say brother, this is one of the greatest harp songs ever. First time I saw this vid I was frozen in Harmonica bliss! . Jason's interpretation is unique and amazing.

This year I wore a pair of blue jean shorts and I had a really bright neon-colored lanyard holding my VIP pass. Last year I was in camo shorts and a tank top. I have long, wavy brown hair. Both years I had my camera pointed at the stage 90% of the time!

beautiful .. jason Ricci thank you.

I used to think of Jason Ricci as nothing more than a hot dog along the lines of John Popper. I guess I wanted my white harp players to sound like Paul Butterfield and Charlie Musselwhite. Man, I was wrong. This is one talented musician not limited to just the blues. Get past that and you may be able to appreciate his music. I believe he feels what he plays.

I put Jason in the Howard Levy category. Like savant level, ridiculously knowledgeable meets god given talent. I’m not saying anything about who’s best etc etc. that’s an individual taste thing. I’m talking other worldly gifts.

modern blues harmonica? oh you mean Adam Gussow, a man who is an expert in blues Harmonica, yeah he has also written great books on the Blues! white blues kids? oh you mean like Peter green from the 60"s, the white English kid who"s tone was so good BB King said it made him sweat! Blues is an attitude/feeling.

Hei Jason, what key you play this song?
@srrlIdl12 жыл бұрын
You're acting like african-americans somehow invented the harmonica, only to play their music from that time. Which wasn't the case at all. You don't like Ricci, no one cares. please stop making hate-comments, it makes you look like a 13 year old who has nothing better to do.

What authority do you have to call people 'bluesless'? Just because you don't like modern blues harmonica means nothing. You just have a different definition of what blues is, that's just too bad. Ask a guy like Rick Estrin what he thinks about Ricci, and he'll say he loves him! You don't have the right to decide 'this is blues, this isn't', so chill. And next time you make claims about 3 year olds who are better then Ricci, show some evidence first.

Adam Gussow is not the subject of my critiscism in this thread. I dont know why you mentioned him. And that you mentioned Peter Green in the same sentence and in relation to socalled 'modern blues harmonica' is just mindbaffling and absurde. Oh and your youtube invention, the socalled 'modern blues harmonica' has neither attitude nor feeling, in fact that is the main point of my critiscism besides the ignorant absurde statements about these 'ok' players being legendary and world class masters.
