Be careful about meeting your idols! They might not be that glorious as you think they are. And the biggest disappointment is when those idols are arrogant. Then you really know that they still have some mental work to do. But David was not arrogant. Matter of fact he was very worried about coming across as arrogant because he was very aware of how wrong it must be and feel to be arrogant. David was the opposite of arrogant, he was extremely humble. I love him.

+Jeff B Pringles. Haha. They make us fat. I prefer to get fat with Lindt chocolate. Arrogance is only a sign of insecurity and yes most humans are insecure myself included. David was insecure, too. It does appear though that Jason Segel is not insecure. Good for him. I think those who had a good mother who nurtured them during infancy and who held them on their chest, grow up to be secure. But this emphasis on loving, nurturing and holding babies on chest is still a rare event. Hopefully people will learn the importance of it and not causing their babies loneliness anymore. Then we will conquer once and for all the negative side effects that can be termed Infancy Abandonment Syndrome.

***** Ha. I'm sure Donald had a good mother. But did you know that real wool is problematic as well? I didn't know that either in the past. One might think well what's wrong with wool? But unfortunately the wool industry is corrupted and cruel as well. They castrate the sheep without anesthesia and they cut away huge chunks of flesh this makes no sense at all. That is why I am fully vegan in my whole life style including clothing. You can buy 100% synthetic fuzzy socks which feel really smooth and comfortable, they also absorb moisture from wet and cheesy feet and they diffuse the moisture and breathe it back out so that the feet always feel dry and warm.

@@seldomseenn The wool industry is extremely cruel they castrate male sheep without anesthesia to "save money". I paint with acrylic and polymer colors I have no other choice but I use cotton swabs to avoid it from going into the drain. Plastics are waste products from the oil industry we need to at least utilize it. Avoid plastic bags when you can and use clothe bags instead.

This was the most beautiful movie about such a beautiful human being. I have only made it half way on my last attempt at the magnis opus that was Infinite Jest. I have never attempted to honestly read a novel that so consistently had me reaching for dictionaries, and those footnotes… God the footnotes…! Anyway his work causes me to feel like a literary moron, and I have written all my life, and have been complimented for this skill over anything else all my life. I would love to just once write something “good”. Not THAT good… I just do not, and will never have the tools that beautiful man had. Much writing is about “finding your voice”… but there are vistas between my best voice and his most accessible work (like his short stories written for magazines)… I mean, it is just humbling. I idolised DFW since my 20s. I was more upset at his self inflicted loss than any other idol or public figure I can think of. For me it was his obvious humility demonstrated in the respect his interviewers and his readers just got me. There was nothing he could not do with a sentence. He didn’t pretend it was easy, but I don’t think his humility would allow him to appreciate just how far his writing felt to other writers or would be authors like myself. It is impossible for me not to feel that there were many times that he felt the need to “dumb down” when he was addressing a group or speaking in an interview. But he did it graciously, and with kind thoughtfulness that it made this movie as good a testament to his talent as anything. It still makes me desperately sad when I think about him if I am honest. Loved, respected, adored even, but so painfully separated from and isolated from. God. Siegel did a really underrated and beautiful job in that movie. Both actors and the script was so great at introducing what made him special and the envy of so many authors… and this guy.

He is a teacher. He is a human. He has exceptional talents. He needed to develop real world skills. For instance, why hesitate explaining your own words? He was powerfully overwhelmed when it was time to return to points. I think that is what they mean by being careful what you wish for? Sometimes, in my experience, getting exactly what you want requires you learn everything about it. When deciding you want everything you will learn there are many people wondering if you are their source? That is scary to think about. Transparency and accountability, means nothing you are about is concerning. Nothing. That level of honesty -- is it.

I envy anyone whose problem is that they've accomplished their goal.
@RolandMcGruner
@RolandMcGruner 4 жыл бұрын
Zetch_ rant alert: what’s to envy? They keep saying that the attainment of a goal ends up meaning absolutely nothing in the face of “how are you really going?”. I hope we don’t all need to 1. achieve a goal, 2. so that you can see that you STILL feel empty, 3. to realise that none of that is important, 4. so you can begin the real work of learning how to learn, and how to become better attuned to yourself. You can’t know what you don’t yet know, so just trust that there are different ways that you can’t even imagine. Start moving towards doing the work to integrate yourself. (For me, what worked was/is Alexander technique, therapy, and ‘hardwiring happiness’ by Rick Hansen. It felt alien at first, but that’s how you know there’s something to learn)
@Swiatlocien
@Swiatlocien 4 жыл бұрын
Absurd jealousy. It's all about the journey, accomplishing the goal leaves you even a tiny bit more unsatisfied than you were just before the achievment. Just keep striving, it doesn't matter at all if you make it (in regards to your fulfilment).
