He makes a video of indoctrination versus education without defining either... Let me break it down for you: if you are educated you understand how to critically think and that it means far more than simply thinking critically about something. You can thereby come to your own conclusions formulating a strong foundation for why you believe what you do. Educated people know how to think and do their own research. If you are indoctrinated you *think* you know how to think for yourself (but you actually don't) and therefore anytime you are presented with real facts you will more than likely crumble into a heaping mess and more than likely resort to name calling. This is because you don't know why you believe what you do, just that others have told you to because if you do not then you must be a racist, or an anti fill-in-the-blank, or fill-in-the blank phobic. Indoctrinated people only know what to think because they let others do the academic work for them.

@@boathemian7694 He gave his examples of what each were (in his opinion, as a means to indoctrinate) rather than giving you the actual definition of what they are. I defined what they actually are above. It's a bit like teaching a man to fish versus giving a man a fish... The first grants man the ability to fish for a lifetime and the other feeds him for a day, leaving him dependent on the man who gave him the fish. The same is true of education and indoctrination, respectively.

Education creates the ability of conversation which in turn can become a form indoctrination ,if the people your talking with believe ,,you can't have one without the other

Once the word "marginalized" was stated, that was the moment this topic left reality and entered into subjectivity. Marginal is only accomplished with a zoom in method, and teaching general education doesn't have the time, no really it doesn't - that's why it's called general - to do such zooming in. Like all of the arts, the best rises to the top to be remembered, and that is true of fringe people's stories / perspectives too. For those who want to go deeper and zoom in on "marginal" points of view, the resources are abundant to do so, the same as in the arts. Expecting this to happen in K-12 outside of an elective is foolish and the epitome of indoctrinating. Funneling the masses views to the fringe instead of the broad story misses the need to see the broad. Seeing trees and no forest makes one not wiser but the village idiot. Allowing one to see the trees in the forest makes one a specialist.
