Without a doubt, Jason Todd is the most realistic and well developed character in the DC Universe, both in The Arkham Knight, Under the Red Hood, and the New 52 along with pre New 52

I`m pretty sure that irony was entirely deliberate on Jason`s part as he became Red Hood to spite and attempt to kill Joker for all the suffering he caused himself and the rest of the Bat-Family over the years.
