Jason's mom is the killer in 1, he's then the killer in 2, which he has a sack instead of the hockey mask, he gets the mask in 3, dies at the end of 4, 5 is a dude pretending to be him, and 6 is when he's accidentally revived as a zombie and loses the ability to make any vocal sounds from then on.
