Kyrie Irving and he is a better player overall. Problem with JW was that he wanted to prove himself and was going solo too much. It was choking the team, that's why they did better with Bibi. Even JW said later in some interview that he was too young to understand his mistakes.

The kings tried to change his game and control how he played and that's why his last year with the kings was so different from his first 2 years and I feel like if they just let him play they would have done better those last 2 years as a team

They went to conference finals the very next year with Mike Bibby running point so there's something to be said about honing in White Cocoa

Bibby was a good player but J Dub gave that Kings team an identity and a culture of selfless basketball. He changed the way they played the game for the better, and Bibby benefited from that. As usual, the Kings squandered the opportunity by not capitalising on the talent they had and by not giving Williams the time to develop. They might have made it to the WCF and lost to the Lakers with Bibby but that was as far as they got, and it wasn't much further than they got the season prior, losing to the Lakers in the WCS with Williams. I feel like J Dub got the last laugh in the end, though. The ring is the thing. 🏆

I don't understand the Jason Williams hype outside of highlight plays. Trading him for Bibby was a huge upgrade and one of the smartest things the Kings have ever done. As a Kings fan we know there hasn't been a lot of those. Immediately elevated the team to championship contention.
