It's February 23rd, 2024 and as an Air Force Plumber from 2009-2013 who was stationed in Misawa, Japan, this is pretty damn accurate. This reminded me of the quarterly "exercises" a.k.a war games that we had to do. 3 days of 12 hour shifts (more like 14 due to an hour of pre breeding and an hour debrief) of being in "M.O.P.P" (mission oriented protective procedures?) gear "guarding" an area. Being in the civil engineering squadron this meant 11 hours of periodic napping 😴and playing SPADES... ♣️♠️♣️ Every shift, multiple missile attacks would occur and depending on your squadron, you had to deal with the before, during and aftermath of the attack..

Well the smartphone holder I have seen even on E9s in the Army and Marines. Chief Master Sergeant, USAF has no CWO, is same as Sgt Major in the army and Marines. Its usually their government issued cellphone or its a PDA of sorts that has apps for like troop movements, schedules and some other things an E9 would need for their jobs.

When my dad was young he worked night shift at the communication tower in the RAF Germany, the weather at the time was freezing so he thought he'll sneak in a bottle of rum for warmth but throughout the night on solo duty, so bored he drank the whole bottle and was drunk but in the morning his commander ordered him into the office, he was being frank that if he admitted it he would not face the court martial but promise never to drink again. My dad thought he was bluffing to get him to admit it but "how the hell he know if he had a drink?" He wasn't there during his duty nor any other staff as he was alone a😮ll night. He lied "No, sir, I haven't touched that kind of drink at all." The commander said fair enough but be warned you could get arrested should you get caught drinking, you can go now." "Yes, sir," he saluted and left. Two hours later, he finished his duty and drove home, as he was passing the communication tower he saw a dark matter on the wall, streaked all the way down from the window, he realised he was drunk and vomited out of the window where he worked. He never drink on duty again and in fact, he only drink lightly on every Christmas times with the family.

RAF in Germany? I thought the RAF was in Britain

​@genewilkerson8528 The RAF Bases were in Germany until the last one, I think, pulled out and returned to the UK in 2001.
