man, what is it about this guy's melodies that resonates with me so deeply?

This track makes my brain c*m in big ripples of volcano-lava and rainy alleys late at night across spaceship earth and smoke and stars and stuff just beyond our perception. Dude is our world's modern-day alchemist, only he really is throwing-down magic :)

This album had alot of old school vibes opn here and there.

True, there is something very reassuring about it for me as a fan of early-era OPN. I like the new album. The last minute of "The Station" is, in my opinion, one of the best things OPN has done so far.

+ALotOfBottles In my eyes, this album goes very very well with "Returnal." They do similar things in certain places, and listening to returnal right before Age Of really puts you in a very specific headspace that's hard to pinpoint. I'm not sure if this is intentional on OPN's side of things, or if he's just been itching to get back to his roots lately. Either way, Age Of is pretty good.

are there any other similar tracks from opn or any other artists who use syth to create such melancholic tunes? only know memory vague and betrayed in octagon. thank you for uploading.

check out rifts (a compilation of his first 5 albums, and some eps, including memory vague and betrayed in the octagon) and returnal. both are in pretty much this exact same style.

Le Révélateur is a Canadian duo (of which one member, Roger Tellier Craig, is a former member of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, surprisingly) whose recent work is very similar to what OPN was doing on Rifts and Returnal. Here's my personal favorite from them: lerevelateur.bandcamp.com/album/fictions
