Hey Leo, I understand how you are feeling, I remember crying myself to sleep because I practiced drawing hairs for hours but it still looked like garbage. It never gets worse, it only gets better. As long as you keep going you'll improve, even if it's at least 1% every single day, small yes, but in one year that's 365%. 💪💪💪💪💪💪

Imagine how good you’ll be in another 7 years 😃 If you’re looking for video ideas i think a tutorial on shading specifically from very dark to light in a small space would be really informative. I always have trouble getting over the hurdle in my mind of creating a harsh shadow line without unintentionally dragging the gradation from dark to light further and further until the difference in contrast isn’t as it should be. I hope that’s understandable.

I think I understand what you mean. So you are saying that you want to blend the shadows to the highlight but you don't want it to be sort of 'overblended' where the dark tones stretch further and further into the highlight. Is this right?

@@JasonLegendaryArt - exactly right. That “sharp” line between shadow and highlight can be daunting for less skilled people like me and it can end up as you said, overblended. It then takes away from the contrast and makes the drawing look 2d again but yeah you nailed it, i haven’t seen any other channel mention it ever and i assume it’s a fairly common issue so it would be a cool video to learn from :)

We are in the same shoes bro but I'm glad I've resumed again I want to improve n add it as a side job .... I want to improve on pencil realistic art n I don't sleep anymore...I'm a photographer n cinematographer I've been improving all through my photography career just like him in spec of 3 to 4 years it a long way but I swear ill never give up on art from pencil to vfx n broadcasting.... I see there big improvement. But not enough. I tried it later with my own style and it wasn't so precise, but looking more like this person. I don't know why...but my drawings are becaming often 3D and I guess that maybe I have different perception of space and objects and I do mistakes shift it on paper in portraits.

When I was nine, I used to draw really well for my age. But I had been distracted for about like 5 years and it really effected my drawing skills, couldn't draw (shade) Like I used to.
