I get what david and liza are saying, like in our generation (for most people at least) you show your afection through sarcasm and joking around and calling them names but meaning the opposite, saying i hate you when it means i love you. So when someone just shows afection through being actually nice, it comes off either fake or cringey, but knowing jason you can see its genuine
