It's not about the race, it is actually about the cultural differences and there are other things as well. Did you know that Afrikan Americans were first brought to USA to be slaves from Africa. Jumpscare is a rather shitty way to scare someone, pull a prank, or create suspense in movies. I do appreciate the gradual buildup of tension, such as when a picture falls or a ghostly voice says "Bless you" after someone sneezes. Jump scares are more for the audience's entertainment, while a prank that leaves the victims unsure if it's real or not is truly in the spirit of horror.

When I was a teenager we had a wall clock in the kitchen with a loose second hand, and it had a counterweight for balance. So when it got horizontal (pointing to 3) it would slip, and the weight would make it vertical (pointing to 12). When my friends and I were raiding the refrigerator, someone would always notice "That clock went backwards!" And I'd say "What?" and I'd watch with them, and when it got halfway between 2 and 3, I'd walk away and say "Aaa. You're crazy." Then a second or two later "It just did it again!!" And again, I'd watch with them for about 10 seconds and walk away. Sometimes it went on for a long time. Some people never figured it out. I'd love to have that clock again.
