Great step by step Jason. Thank you for putting this together, it is very helpful. I played with the Tonex Pedal for the first time last night, and it sounded fantastic! Your tips from other videos allowed me to set it up appropriately for gigging. Thanks again!

Great comprehensive video. Thanks Jason! I don’t use Tonex as an audio interface. I have it integrated into Helix for live playing only. No one really addresses using Tonex in a band situation and I think doing a deep dive into this topic would be very much appreciated. I would love to hear your thoughts, tips and suggestions on the topic. Your advice is always so rock solid and detailed.

Thanks Jason! Not sure if you’ve done this already but if not could you do a video on how to edit the new effects on the ToneX pedal?

One clarification for those that are interesting in getting either of the Tonex pedals: you are NOT limited to the 20 tone models, even when using CS once you have a pedal registered.

Nice introduction to Tonex Software Jason. However, I'm still having issues with getting my Tonex Max software to sound anything like your demos or any others I hear on KZbin. I'll be the first to admit I'm a beginner when it comes to amp modeling and how to setup the hardware. It would be great to see an instructional video specifically on this aspect as I believe my problem may be how I have my hardware setup. For anyone interested when I use the Tonex Software I plug my guitar directly into a Volt 1 Interface, from the Volt I I have left and right cables going into M Audio Monitors (Studiophile BX5a), I have a USB cable running from my MAC into the Volt 1. 1st speculation - are the M Audio Monitors too small for this purpose? I've tried a number of tweeks in the software like adjusting the Trim In settings, Noise Gate, Gain, Volume, etc., but most of the Tone Models just sound the same. The Hi Gain Models in particular sound horrible, high pitch squeals, completely non-useable. 2nd speculation - are you supposed to select a Tone Model and then select a preset to interact with the TM? If so how is this done? One curious observation is that when I use the Demo feature in Tonex the demo sounds great through these monitors. It would be nice to be able to select a Demo and have the system automatically apply it's settings. Any help in directing me to additional resources would be greatly appreciated.

Do you think we'll ever be able to edit presets on the Tonex pedal using the software? Or maybe they can create a separate piece of software specifically for editing the Tonex pedal?

@@waynecornwall7385 that have already announced that is coming.

Thx for sharing your extensive knowledge with us newbies…👍 I’m using latest pedal firmware. However no matter what level I set for my Trim IN the meter always reads “LOW”. Never see an “OK” nor “HI”. Any advice much appreciated,

Any advice on how to connect it to a guitar cabinet? Is a transistor stage like the Harley Benton or the Seymour Duncan better or on the contrary would I gain a lot with a tube stage like the Mooer? Obviously I know I have to disable the IR pulse. any specific cabin? Should I go to FRFR? Do you lose a lot of "amp in the room" feeling with the frfr?

I'm a newb so I too would like to hear Jason's opinion on this. I will say though that if you already have a cabinet and a solid state amp of any sort just try it. Before I got a SD Powerstage 100S (stereo, but not using it in stereo until I start using an HX Stomp for FX and Tonex just for AMP, if I ever go stereo), I just used a Fender Mustang GTX 50 combo on the 'studio clean' model/channel, with EQ set flat in the middle, and it really didn't sound bad. I was also, later, happy with the Tonex into a reverb pedal (before ToneX had reverb/delay), into a Powerstage 170 (not stereo) into a single 12 cabinet. I may never switch to stereo but like having the option. Now that the ToneX has time FX I don't think I would have bothered ordering an HX Stomp for FX but I do have one on the way. I am in no hurry for it now though with the latest ToneX updates. Once my skills improve a bit more I might be more picky.

Stupid program from Tonex. Allways get a red dot with the status because I'am not logged in Tonenet but I'am. You then need to unautherise it an re-autherise to work it again but when you start up your computer the next day it starts all over again. 😠😠😠 Btw. Bought the Tonex Limited edition and I returned it. I'am sure that it sound fantastic but software and hardware not working great together like the Line6 Helix does. And I had lots of latency. So for me a piece of crab. Jason. Keep up the good work. Love you videos.
