This worked, for some parts where you cant select a specific option I found that plugging in a regular wired mouse to the TV's USB port allowed me to do everything required. I deleted the mouse app and just used a regular mouse to set it all up and now i can just use my remote to view the cameras easily, no more mouse after setting it up.

That's only available on the latest app version, but that version times out in 5 mins. So you will have to keep logging in.

Hi Jason, thanks, another great video. Id appreciate your advice. My 85 yr old Dad wants to see hik vision cameras on his bedroom Tv. He cant connect to NVR as too far. Is chromecast the easiest way to get Hik Vision on a smart Samsung TV or older non smart TV ? What version of chromecast should i buy for him bearing in mind it will only be used to view CCTV ? Id follow your videos to set it up but will it be reasonable easy for him to use ? tks

The chromecast is easy if you can get him use to the mouse control. Question. Do you have a hard wire internet line by the TV?

I have the issue...too far to make use of hdmi/DB9 ports at rear of the nvr. I have some very old LG smart tv and I do have wire inthernet connection to the TV - is there any other way to ensure HIKVISION CCTV watching? (instead of buying the chromcast) Perhaps some wireless system allowing making use of spare DB9 port.. I investigated using web page for this purpose and it seems it works with microsoft edge and some plugin only... 🙈 Please help 🙏

Fire stick disable it with there latest firmware update. We have to wait for the next firmware update and hope they fix it.

Hey Jason, I did download the mouse toggle application, however when switched to mouse mode the cursor was moving but I couldn’t click anything. Hence, I deleted the app and used a wireless mouse. The same issue still appears😶

Hello Jason, for some reason installing the HIK-Connect Chromecast Addon, I couldn't get to highlight the "more details option" for me to proceed on clicking the "install anyway" button.

i had this issue and plugged in a regular mouse to the usb port on the tv and could select it. I didn't use the mouse app.

Hi. Thanks for great tutorial. I’m stuck with hik-connect add on. From some reasons chromecast don’t allow me to install it. It don’t even allow me to go to “more details”. I only can close installation.

Great tutorial. Same thing happened to me. You should go to settings -> apps -> security -> and disable Play Protect

You need a wireless mouse to connect to the Chromecast because it did it to me i connected a wireless mouse and clicked on more details than it allowed me to install it

Make sure you have all the cameras in SD not HD.

Didn't work. Once I got into the Hik conntect app, the mouse didn't work. It moves around the screen but wouldn't let me 'click' on anything

You skipped a part. You have to enable usb debugging.

Are you on the same network as the recorder, not a 3rd party WiFi?
