** IMPORTANT ** (as of August 21, 2023) To people who might want to request more or different 100 days (minecraft or any game): I am no longer making anymore 100 days, So please do not comment requesting more because that will get ignored. Reasons for this is in the description (ignore the first part of number 3 in the list below) *************** Before you comment, please read this: These are some common things I see in my comment feed. 1. Why bridge? A: I was making the bridge to hopefully show off the different versions throughout my world, and the changes. 2. Why did he not show his builds? A: I did not think about that during production of this video. I made up for it by showing this part of the world in the Beta versions video. Please stop commenting about this, I couldn't even change it even if I wanted to. 3. To the people who comment "When are you going to make another 100 Days?" on other videos that are not 100 days (or plan to do this). A: I am making one (NO LONGER TRUE) . I have a post on my community tab that tells more information. Please stop posting that question on other videos specifically. Going to other videos and commenting it won't change anything. (I don't care if you comment that on this video or any other 100 days videos I've made but if you do want to know more, please read the post) I'm making this comment so it can hopefully answer some people's questions and clear up some confusion. :) - Jason

I started playing Minecraft sometime in very early Alpha, but one of the most memorable updates in Minecraft will always be the Nether update. Was at a friends for a party, sometime later in the night someone mentioned it updated and we all huddled around the computer, drunk as a skunk exploring the nether together for the first time. We were all freaking out as it was now spooky. Good times.

@@jasonthesmarty Not having health automatically regen and food not stack made mobs so scary. It's why so many of us "old" Minecraft players complain about the hunger update. It completely changed the nature of the game. I liked that if I was good enough I could mine infinitely so long as I could dodge skeleton's arrows. I liked that team based PVP was often about who could churn out the most food as people kept losing it when they died, and that higher quality food had a strategic value in that it gives more hearts per inventory space. But I still loved post-release Minecraft. It wasn't until they started going crazy with additions that I started preferring older versions to new ones.

I usually despise these sort of videos; that being the sort with the gimmicky challenge or trend mentioned in the title, but with that said, this was hands down the most entertaining “Hundred days” one I’ve ever watched. I don’t even watch Minecraft videos anymore… I haven’t for about five years (sans the occasional one my younger brother sends me to watch, or that I happen to see him watching) so I have no idea why this was recommended to me, but I’m glad it was. You did a phenomenal job touching upon some amazing information (half of which I didn’t even know about), and I was super in-tune with it when these updates were actually taking place. Just wanted to express my congratulations and gratitude for your video which both hits me with a firm dose of nostalgia, teaches me something, and entertains me for an evening. (Also, commenting so the algorithm will help work in your favor) Awesome job, and keep up the great work buddy.

I found a small beach and kinda dug one or two blocks down into it and made a roof and windows over it. Had a couple of dogs and met some amazing friends on there and showed them my world. I can still see it all, but accidentally deleted it when I was super young because I had no idea what "Delete World" really meant. This is making me remember being 12 and going over to my friend's house to play this cool new game he found. It was an experience that I doubt I will ever have again in my life. And it also makes me a bit sad because just months later, beta 1.8 came out which started taking the game in a direction that even at the time I didn't like. The magic gradually vanished. Part of that of course is just the novelty wearing off, but I still think it was a mistake to change the game's atmosphere so drastically.

This video really brought back some memories as I started playing MC around Secret update 3 or 4.

Man, it really says a lot how Mojang now struggle to make redeemable updates to save their lives, but Notch could program an entire planet into existence in the span of a couple of months.

I'm late but it's cool to see someone who didn't grow up with Alpha, play Alpha. I remember buying the game in update 1.0.14. My Mom at the time was super suspicious because the games I **usually** ask for were on Xbox360 and cost $60. While if I remember correctly, Minecraft was like $5. She thought it would be a re-occurring payment like an MMO subscription.

Everyone else is talking about nostalgia, which i am getting, but is anyone else getting like a weird unsettled feeling from these older versions? Modern minecraft isnt scary to me but just watching this makes me feel unsettled. Maybe its the lighting, or maybe the sound, or maybe its because it feels so damn empty, its such an isolating experience

caving made me on edge the whole time. i think something that made it scarier was that the player was more vulnerable. (e.g. no running)

Something about building in an alpha style in later versions of minecraft sounds very poetic

This was a brilliant video 10/10, growing up with playing Alpha I remember seeing Seananners first episode in Minecraft back the week he released it, driving my parents insane and within a week they bought me the game back when I was 13, I have some of the fondest memories of the updates always being so fun to experience.

I may have mostly moved on from Minecraft but old, as in pre 2012, Minecraft still fills me with nostalgia. I loved this video, and had some really great editing in it

I started a few weeks before the redstone update, so this video has loads of nostalgia for me. I actually built a local server in 2014 with a fresh map, and I'm still playing it to this day. I've never left, and nobody has ever played on the server but me. I have updated it through the versions though, which I regret sometimes.

I wish the alpha builds still had the original sound effects, I know Notch didn't actually have the rights to use some of the sounds but they're just the "right" sounds for classic Minecraft
