Hi Andy. Jasper National Park is one my my favorite places to visit... summer is nice but fall is even better (the tourists have gone home and the skiers haven't arrived yet). I'd love to visit the Highlands... definitely on my list of places to go. Thanks for the comment. Frank

It's definitely an awesome place to visit! The snow was melting when we left, but it sure caught me by surprise. It was more like slush on the ground which soaked through my sneakers. Oh well, live and learn. It's transition season, especially up at higher elevations.... Have a good one Will! Frank

It was a fun weekend getaway. Nothing like a trip out to the Rockies to reset the mind.... Fall is awesome up there because it's quiet (most tourists have gone home and it's not yet skiing season). Very cool looking record store , I always think that stores in basements of other stores seem to have the best stuff to browse through. Hello Jeff! Yes, my wife Sheri is awesome! We were actually there for business... Sheri had some work to do, but I took an hour to myself on the first afternoon we arrived to go record hunting solo, which was much appreciated. The other two days she was working, and I got to hang out with my kids and see the sights. I also love basement shops, off the beaten paths joints, that kinda stuff... you never know what you'll find. Cheers man! Frank

Hi Cameron. Yes, indeed Lawsuit are a hard rock band from Winnipeg (circa mid 80s to early 90s). Fun music. The drummer went on to play with Vince Neil of Motley Crue and Slash. The guitar player, Brian Johnson, was a DJ on CITI FM for awhile. Cheers, Frank

Last summer, myself and my friend had plans to visit Jasper but we didn't have the time as we went only as far as Banff and Lake Louise. Good to see that there are records out there in tourist towns like Jasper! I didn't buy very many records during our trip in BC and Alberta, just a few like Siouxie and the Banshees LP and a Killing Joke 10" MLP.

Looks beautiful Frank if a little cold! I've never been to Jasper yet, just Banff (similar close encounters with wildlife!). Hi Doug, beautiful and cool (but nothing I can't handle, haha). It was 7 C the day we arrived, then freezing at night. Banff is awesome. I prefer Jasper just by a bit, and only because it's smaller and a tad less commercial. Both are fantastic destinations we love taking the kids to. Your family would love Drumheller. Drop me a note if you ever make it to the Edmonton area! And yes, always have my eyes open for records! Cheers, Frank

Hi Blake. I've heard the same about elk meat. I used to know someone who raised elk not for the meat, but to harvest the antlers (they grow back). He would grind up the antlers and sell the powder to Asia... as an aphrodisiac, believe it or not. Frank

I'll talk more about Lawsuit in an upcoming video. I had more here but I cut it out... I want to do these guys justice... Hard rock/metal from Winnipeg, circa 80s to early 90s. Lots of line up changes. One of the drummers, Brent Fitz, went on to play with Vince Neil's solo band as well as Slash's band. I emailed the guitar player/band leader Shaky last week and he still has some of the 80s records for sale on vinyl, which I hope to buy. No Genesis? Sacrilege! No, just-kidding... But it does remind me of my brother's tale of explaining the group's existence to the kids of the small-town Baptist church he attended. To which I replied: "Did you explain to them about the dogma of Abacab?" 😛

Breathtaking scenary. And snow? Wow! It hardly snows here now in the UK. But rains a lot. Global Warming. Anyway, if you're getting into Genesis - a heads up. Best album for me is Duke then Abacab then Selling England By The Pound. The three sides live album is an absoloute must have. The England one is Peter Gabriel era. As for Peter Gabriel. These two albums you MUST own. First is called SO. It has tracks like sledgehammer and Don't give up. The other is called "4" Also known as "Security" as Peter Gabriel first 4 albums were untitled and known only by the cover art. 4 has three devastating tracks which will blow you away listening on vinyl. San Jancinto, Lay your hands on me and the absolutely blitzkreig The rhythm of the heat. its earth shattering. The vid on youtube, as its mp3 encoded does not do it justice. It is phenomenal. Anyway, its 6am. Im gona shut up now. Stay Safe.

Thanks Darren. Good tips here. It's been ages since I've heard So. I'm going to keep my eyes open for that one, and some of these other titles as well. The snow caught me off guard (all I had were soaked sneakers on my feet, haha). It was melting when we left, but I'm sure it will snow in the mountain communities again sooner rather than later. I mowed my lawn this weekend, hopefully for the last time in 2016. Cheers, Frank

I would have been here in Great Yarmouth (Well Gorleston for the last year) 4 years tommorow. When i moved up here i moved from a warmer part of the country. So anyway, im here for about a week. And one night the weather was ACH DU LIEBER! An ice hail storm - and fo these old eyes - it was quite spectacular. If we get one this Autumn or winter - i will film it and put it on my channel page - it really is quite extraordinary.
