Jasper Engines & Transmissions - Chrysler 5.7L Hemi Valve Seat Update

JASPER updates the intake and exhaust seats on all early-style 5.7L Hemi heads. The outer pockets are machined to accept seats with twice as much press-fit to prevent the seats from dropping out.

my 2005 5.7 hemi Chrysler dropped a valve now its just sitting rn saving for a swap SRT or fix it which ever is my best option

Bill Walters upto 2008. 2009 and on have better seating but it can happen to any not just Hemi. I have 13 ram with Hemi with 55k on clock with zero issues but was thinking about changing out the heads before she hits 80k just incase

I had it happen on my 2010 Ram 2500. I bought a reman engine, and it happened again after about 800 miles. Same exact cylinder.

Seen this with a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the hemi which has the MDS.I did replace the intake manifold taking no chances on this one

the problem is most common on 03 through 08. Although if you overheat any year hemi this can occur

its just the 05-06 that had the problem. I literally have 9 of these engines in my family with over 200,000 miles. I own 3 of them alone!.

@@RecklessDezire 05-08 I think. I have a 07 and mines went at 180,000. The 09 and UP HEMIs were fixed of this issued which also dropped the MDS and introduced VVT.

How much? I have a 2008 police charger pursuit 5.7 with 55k miles. I can hear a slight tick and don't trust the heads.

Most likely the rear exhaust manifold bolts on both sides. Common problem. No worries, pound it!

My '03 has 145K miles. Must be time to look at this since it is now clacking in the top. I thought it might be the water pump.

Ed take the intake manifold off and change the mds module and put it back togeather. At 145k you got a good one and it will last 250k

What happens is the mds sensor under the intake manifold gets stuck

Ed if you had bad valve seats it would have popped already

@@markhoefs8434 if it's clicking in the top it's probably just one lifter or one rocker arm. I changed one out in my 05 ram 4.7 and the noise went away. Not bad for $12.99 at AutoZone
