I like this short because of how authentic it seemed, and because I can relate. However, I do like to feel like I got the point that the creator wanted me to and think it's the creator's responsibility to have a clearly defined point and to be able to articulate it. So, what was the point? To show a character slice of a socially maladjusted loner kid?(this I think it did well, but it's more interesting than entertaining.) To convey the humor of the characters' subtle quirks( he was too realistic, without highlighting any amusing ironies or yielding deeper insight into the character, so I didn't find it all that funny.)? Whenever I consume media that's artsy, I'm usually doing so to extract some sort of value, whether it be to achieve catharsis or gain a better understanding of the human condition. Having a clear purpose to your work comforts me in many ways. It assures me that 1) I haven't misinterpreted the work 2) have extracted the optimal value from what I've invested my time in 3)there is no need for me to continue thinking about it so much. Uh. Wow it's late and I'm tired.

I'm loving these videos, reality is nicely folded into a fictional idea. This is starting to become too real though...

So he's tone deaf when he sings with lyrics but has a good sense of pitch when he mimics a trumpet? Riiiight.
