A bowler becoming a captain is very advantageous for the team. The reason I believe so is, If a batsman is a captain even if he wants to, can't do much about contribute with bowling. But a bowler can contribute to team's batting and even if he is a bowler he can try not to get out and contribute some valuable runs. I still remember Pat Cummins contributing to batting with Glex Maxwell by keeping one end without further loosing wickets and helped in winning the game against Afganistan at a crucial point and it resulted in the team's ODI worldcup victory.
