Excellent tutorial! I'm a retired Cosmetologist and Jennifer Aniston's The Rachel was so popular in the 90's. I did that cut on numerous women! This here is such a classic cut! Always looks good no matter what year we're in. So many young women and girls today just wear their hair long and straight and have been doing so for years. So boring... It's time to get some styles like this back!

Plan on getting this haircut on my birthday. Haven’t had short hair since I was 8 years old. You are the only one on KZbin who has done a tutorial on this particular haircut. Jennifer Anniston has had a bunch of lobs, bobs and the Rachel cut (which might be mistaken by this one), and this look in particular is my favorite. I don’t like when lobs and too short in the back and finish longer in the front. This one is pretty even and classy. Thank you for disclosing what I should ask my hairdresser. Wish me luck! 🎉

Awesome tutorial! You really broke it down in a way that is easy to understand and follow. I'd love it if you would do a tutorial on how to copy Sarah Jessica Parker's cut. The way she wears it in the t.v. series "Divorce". It's a long, straight style with face framing layers that fall back, away from the face. Thanks, Cat

Back and away from the face sounds like they pull them up and in front of the face to cut then. When you pull hair forward to cut layers they sweep back beautifully. Hence the butterfly cut or feathery layers. Ask for one of those if you're looking for that cut, better yet bring pictures 😊

Love the tutorial, but I do wish you showed how to blow dry it. I got a similar cut recently, but don’t know how to style it and my back layers always end up flipping out.
@AshleyB-xh1qh9 күн бұрын
Ask to have it beveled next time. They cut the under layer just a tad bit shorter and it encourages the ends to flip under instead of out. I always ask my Bob and lob clients if they'd prefer this and 99% off the time they do. No one wants a Bob that flips out. For now use a large round brush to curl the ends under when blow drying. Use a light mousse or something for hold and use the cool shot button to set your hair in the right direction before moving on to the next section. Hope this helps! 😊

Is this suitable for damaged and thin blond hair? Thank you maestro
@JataiFeather2 жыл бұрын
Yes, since the layering is long it will help maintain weight in the perimeter and keep it looking fuller.

Yes but I would not texture as much. Probably very little texturizing would be required for curly hair.

1. As a customer, how would you explain this cut to a stylist? 2. What's the best way to begin to transition into this cut from a layered cut? Or is it best to grow it out and chop it to get rid of the layering? 3. Do you think the cut is good for someone who likes to go back and forth between naturally curly and styled straight?
@JataiFeather Жыл бұрын
1. Show your stylist a picture of what you want. 2. If your hair is healthy, the easiest and fastest way to grow your layered cut into this shape is to trim the length without cutting or trimming the layering. Using good conditioner will help with the grow out process as well. 3. If you wear your hair curly and straight, don't texturize as much. Too much texture on curly hair can make it appear fuzzy. But the overall shape would work well for curly or straight.
