Kobe has sounded like he is stoned during the entirety of spring. Actually the entire last year. Not saying he hasn't been a core of LCS casting, but he has slipped significantly this last year. Phreak has had a much more storied history with the org and has been a rock. Kobe not so much.

I feel like jatts success will depend on how the teams culture. If he can set the tone and get the team to follow him he'll be fine. A lot of teams are defined by their players besides C9 and I think that's why they have so much success especially as of late. The org backs their coach and his decisions and they play the way the coach wants them too.

I like your point about the leadership. Sometimes people don't realize that there's a 'trickle-down' effect that happens in orgs - leaders screw up or get shit on, and that runs down to the very bottom tiers, including players, coaches, etc. Strong, healthy leadership culture is needed in ANY organization (in and out of eSports).

You're stupid if you think Jatt was desperate to take a coaching job. No. Jatt has the pedigree to be very picky until a situation arose that had potential, which is why the TL job was ideal. A team stacked with talent, the proper facilities, and a new young home grown player (Tactical) to invest in (something Jatt has been stressing teams to do). This has all the ingredients to make one bomb-ass pizza. I hope everyone's hungry.

Jatt leaving the LCS Cast isnt bigger then Monte and Doa leaving... or Deficio. Or PapaSmithy, Or Deman and Joe Miller. It happens. And as long as these guys leave casting to improve the professional scene (and not because they are beefing with Riot over stupid mistakes), it is a good thing. Jatt, who has reached his ceiling as a caster, will help improve TL, while making room for new talent on the cast. This should lead to an overall growth of expertise in the game.

I have no idea if this trend of caster becoming Head Coach for caster is going to go well or not? PapaSmithy didn't do bad in 100T or great yet but to fill Cain shoes is a big role for a caster... 100T was terrible for a few splits before getting onboarded but for TL only one bad split before lots of wins

2017 Impact was not 2016 Impact, and you're conflating the 2. 2016 Impact was the Top Die Impact, the solo kill you in lane Impact. That Impact was more in 2017 Summer. He did not have nearly the same level of domination and was sometimes a hindrance, because he would die to ganks that he could previously turn around in a 2v1.

I dont think the majority of people had high expectations for Papasmithy, at least not for his first split. And the results aren't mediocre by any means, 100t was horrible last year and this split they gained a lot of fans and went to playoffs. I'd call that a win for a first split

Don't forget where this Org was last year. 100 Thieves, were a broke ass team, with a small fan base, that went 10th and 8th in the last two splits. They bring in Papasmithy to be GM. In his first split with the new roster that he built, they finish third in the regular season, and 5/6th in the playoffs. Two of the players were also voted all-pro. I'd call that out-performing expectations. At minimum he met most analyst expectations , as 100 Thieves was typically placed somewhere in the 5th-7th spots in preseason power rankings.
