Now that's a nice clock, too. Sounds like the chime movement may be going a little fast. I've been wanting several Jauch models in my collection.

@@tristangardner3889 okay, I acquired this clock for my friend of mine. I brought it home I cleaned it up as well as I could I did not take it apart I'm I'm pretty good at fixing things but I did not want to tackle that yet. I did get it to work for quite a long time probably a year and a half the pendulum moved very well. Just recently when I wind it and close the door for some reason the pendulum wants to stop. It is as if there is some kind of pressure going on inside I mean as far as air pressure. I have left the door open and the pendulum moved freely. But now I am having trouble with it moving whether the door is open or closed. Also the chimes when they are struck they sound like somebody has their hand on them but that is a different problem I would just like to get the clock working again sorry this is a long message but you seem pretty knowledgeable. Thank you for your help.

I'm pretty sure you realize that the clock won't run if the clock's ticking isn't in beat. In other words, the tick-tock sound has to be even, like the sound of a metronome. Do you know when the clock was last serviced? It seems more than likely that the movement will need to be taken out of the clock and apart so that it can be cleaned and oiled a little more thoroughly, mainsprings and all. Movements need to be cleaned and oiled every so often so that they can work properly; they need to be oiled every three to five years and cleaned every eight to ten years. Truth told, I don't know everything about clocks, but I strive to learn more and more information about them so that I can work on them myself someday. I'm even working on one right now.

@@Clock1010 Gazo clocks usually had Jauch movements, such as the San Marcos, Coronado, Torrey Pines, Monterey, Carmel, Santa Barbara, Palo Alto, Ramona, La Mesa, and La Jolla models all had Jauch movements like the one in this clock.
