Starlings are a relative of the highly vocal Minah bird, that's why they're so talented.

he usually is disturbed after beak trim and pinching you, right? 😅 Here he seems to be in a very talkative mood! Beautiful birby ❤❤❤

Hi Sarah! Question about the Mouth as I’ve found myself with a stage 4 clinger (Poo Daddy) who I had hoped to bring up and release but am pretty certain he’s my new buddy for the rest of his life. Anyway, he (I say he but don’t know for sure yet, just saying he instead of it) was one of three freshly hatched hatchlings plus an unhatched egg found on the pavement in a parking lot and I could not bring myself to leave him there to perish like his siblings did. Now four weeks and two days later he’s fully feathered in his juvenile attire (lol), has learned how to fly and just this week how to land on me. Here’s my questions since he always wants to be on me… how do you handle the poo?!?! His name is Poo Daddy for a reason. 😂 (but he only answers to Baby, hahahaha)

how exactly do you trim a beak anyways? dremel tool?
@ineshughes99537 күн бұрын
That's what I'm interested in as well. We just trimmed our Starling's beak and nails, too. We're using nail clippers and it's working pretty well but I'm interested to know if there's any better options. I'm still afraid that I might hurt him (do they bleed if I cut too short like dogs?)

I used to get so angry at Starlings, because when I was putting out food to photograph woodpeckers, the Starlings would follow and make a complete disaster of the food and my patio. I’ve grown to really love them thanks to your vids!
@SandraCat2218 күн бұрын
And I hate woodpeckers because they’re destroying the stucco siding on my house…
@Call-me-Al13 күн бұрын
@@SandraCat22 Well, they predate the existence of stucco siding, so they're just thinking the texture must mean it's a good place for tasty bugs to hide

That bird did a 7/8 beat! Is that a regular European starling? No wonder those birds can mimic composers. I'd love to give him my drum beats and Indian rhythms.
