When I find myself thinking "ugh--community college" I will endeavor to remember this. Someone who really learns all you are presenting in these classes will master many subtleties that escape many University graduates even, to the great harm of their code.

Margret, you are simply amazing. If you aren't already a professor, you need to be one. I've already taken a semester of java, read and watched so many youtube videos, and by far this is the best video I've watched. I've learnt everything I needed in 15 minutes in comparison to the hours I've spent previously listening to others explain these concepts. I very much look forward to watching the rest of your videos. I also love how you include little exercises at the end with solutions so we can have a try and see if we're doing it right - if not, we know where we went wrong.

She is at least an instructor, if she is not a full tenured professor, your suggestion could be interpreted as a suggestion to grant her tenure. I agree, she has very clear, no-nonsense intros to these topics that point out many things that you might miss to your great detriment when programming.

Hi Marget, I love your Java videos. You explain things in a really organized and neat way with the power points. I'm learning Java right now on my own and through a book, but the book I have doesn't explain getters and setters that well. Thank you for clearing this topic up for me. Before I was pulling my hair out with getters and setters.

So if I'm understanding "getters" correctly, the example private method could be hundreds of lines long, but the example public getter method would still just be "return fieldName;". Is that right?
