The brown edges are producing new shoots which drop off & land in your aquarium to grow & the close up you showed is new leaf growth performing, you have the right light system for this to happen good 👍

OH...well that's good news! I've been cutting down the light in this tank too, but I don't have a hair algae problem in this tank. It's more of a preventative step.

@@FishRfun Well keep the lighting to what you have it set as your plants are in excellent growth 👌 your large moss is adorable. I used to do my own moss balls with netting from cultured moss & other plants was treated with Alum powder to kill hitchhikers.

@peridot-20 thank you. I appreciate that. That moss was so easy I take zero credit for that. I literally super glued it to a piece of driftwood, and put it in the tank. It's gonna kill me to trim it, but I've got to...I'm holding off until after my hardscape gets here. It's nothing big whatsoever.

@@FishRfun That moss if it was me would be left alone, showed it my hubby this morning & he said it was beautiful. I could go mad as I had a channel underneath a different name with 130 odd videos & someone on here started a channel with my videos & avatar so I had to shut the account.

One way they reproduce. when they get a bit bigger you can peel them off the leef with your fingers and stick them to rock or wood for a new plant!

That's so cool because I just got usps notification that the surprise new hardscape will be here tomorrow, and I'll be interested to know if after watching the video, if you think that idea would work. I don't see why not...very cool. Thanks for watching and your input...cheers

You should attach them to your new hardscape. Dude you have one happy fern , that thing wants to reproduce like crazy! Congrats man enjoy the bounty

@collinmckeon107 well thank you...honestly positive feedback from people who really know what they're doing like you (and others of course), really means a lot...thank you

@collinmckeon107 that hardscape will be here today in a matter of hours. I'm doing a video of it and you'll see how it will look with nothing attached to it first. Thanks for watching

Would I glue them to the granite or you said "stick" them to it. I don't see a rhyzome to glue to the rock. Would I just glue the roots. I kind of want to take some from this tank and put it on granite in my 15g

My Java fern has that too! In fact every single leaf has around 6 of them, and I have like 30 leaves. You can just wait for them to fall off and attach to something themselves, or give them a light tug and glue them to a new rock to grow on, congrats you have baby java ferns :) By the way, what is the name of the moss you have growing? It is very pretty, thanks in advance!

Hi...thanks for watching and the information. The moss was sold on Amazon as "flame java moss", but people are telling me it's just Christmas moss. To be honest I'm not even 100% sure. It was a 1 inch cutting that I glued to some driftwood, and a year later, you're looking at it. It's never even been trimmed. Thanks so much for watching!

The only thing i know about those plants is that they look good in your tank. sorry i couldn't be any help.
@FishRfun9 ай бұрын
Lol...well I'll take that. Anyone who has seen your aquascaping knows what a huge compliment that is, and I've discovered through most helpful viewers that these are basically new little plants that I can actually pick off and attach to other parts of my hardscape. Which, by the way, I have surprise new hardscape coming tomorrow, so I'll be making another video tomorrow I'm sure. I'm not taking anything out, I'm just adding something. With your abilities and creations I'm looking forward to hearing what you think if you get a chance to watch it. Thanks for tuning in...😊

Me too, generally that means the leaf is a goner and it is using all its last resources and nutrients into putting out new child plants that can fall off and keep producing

@@FishRfun when you see little roots, you can plant them. Nice work! I'd be proud to own a tank like yours.
