hey i just wanna say thank you alex. im doing my degree now on computer engineering and we are learning java. the class was so confusing for me but your videos made them so much easy to learn. in the beginning i hated java because it was so confusing and i know c++ and it was way easier than oop java. so i really hated learning java but watching your videos made me love java again. its so fun to watch your videos because you explain things in a very simple way and its really easy to understand them. thank you for helping me out. i wish you make thousands of java tutorial videos and i will be watching every one of them. you are a life saver. thank you so much

The fact that you're incrementally building on skills one video at a time (bite sized learning) makes it easy to remember and puts your learning methodology light years ahead of other channels. Thanks!!

You are really good at these videos, Alex. I know you are moving your channel in a new direction, something that seems more fulfilling for you, and I totally support that. I came upon your channel kinda late in the game, as it were. I'm taking a Java Programmer Nanodegree through Udacity and using your videos to supplement the Udacity content. You're much more fun to watch and the way you explain things makes learning Java fun. I have some programming experience, so a few of the concepts are def familiar to me. I'm going to continue till I get through all your Java stuff. Thanks for doing these, man!

I’m using scanner to create strings with user input and asking the user questions and checking the value of the string. So for example, if I ask “Which programming language is this written in?", I’ll wait for the user to answer the question and then check if [insert string name here].toLowerCase is equal to “java”. If so, I’ll print “Correct!”. Then, I’ll add an “else” statement to print “Incorrect!” if it is not equal to “java”.

I love how wrong you can take the sister comment out of context =D Anyways, I'm having these videos play in the back, apparently I need to know a bit about Java for my current course for Advanced Networks with Lab. Kinda terrifies me. Also, I love how my degree requires me to know Java, be proficient at it, then also know C/C++ and be proficient at it. It's scary when I don't have any practice in any of the languages except for whatever I do for school so I get rusty every single time I need to code it again. It also doesn't help when I should know assembly language too, then conversion from there to C (or vice-versa). As programming in C can also contain lines of assembly code, if needed. What sucks is I really don't feel like I learned anything since I don't do any sorts of practice with the material I should have already learned. I wish there was extended work pertaining to all the classes (or majority) that I had taken for future practice. I guess that's why you save all previous work and do it from scratch... Learned the hard way!

Hello Alex, great job on your videos. I m new to java, and strings are complex for me o understand when I try to use numbers or make calculations; one assignment I have is to calculate the volume of a cube promting the user to input. I know how to do the scanner. But I need help setting the string to make the calculation
