My grandmother died at 65 from stroke...I was 11 years old and devastated. I still miss her and I am now 68, myself. My grandson was a year old when I decided I had to get serious about a plant based diet because I want to be here for him and now, also, for my granddaughter. My grandma was a good, German cook, and it killed her. I am a Seventh day Adventist and my church believes in sharing a plant based lifestyle as a way of taking care of these body temples that God gave us, but I just didn't make much effort in that direction. My Dad had heart disease and i watched while his diet and the meds he was on stole his cognitive function. He came to me one day in tears and said, "I don't suppose there's anything that can be done to stop what is happening to me?" I had been telling him for years but he just couldn't grasp it and make it happen. 💔😢 So now I spend my life trying to teach people this better way. It's so wonderful every time I find someone else who is sharing this message. You make some really great points here. Eating things even though they aren't your favorite.... it's a mental attitude about giving your body what it NEEDS!❤ And the fact that nutrition courses are not what they should be! And my doctor actually told me once that I know more than he does about nutrition and health. Thank you for being a living example of the truth that a vegan diet can make men (and women) strong, muscular and beautiful inside and out (because good nutrition also supports the brain... Frontal lobe...where our spiritual center is) There are lots of very unhealthy vegans in the world (because Oreos are vegan😉), unfortunately, who don't know they aren't doing it right. Thank you for sharing your story, and may God bless and continue to prosper you. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️

The story about your dad is heartbreaking. Unfortunately, it is a common story because of the unhealthy diets that most of us grow up eating. Thank you for watching the interview, and for appreciating my efforts. I genuinely appreciate you too!

Javant, I was diagnosed with Crohne’s about 7-8 years ago. When I said to my gastroenterologist « I guess I’m going to have to change my diet » (which was really not very good), my doctor said to me « Oh no. Food has nothing to do with Crohne’s! ». I didn’t believe him, so I did (slowly) change my diet and within 2 years my GI gave me a clean bill of health…??? What??? Once you have Crohne’s, you have it for life!!! So he modified his diagnosis to maybe I had a virus that was mimicking Crohne’s, blah, blah, blah. So, since then, I’ve gone vegetarian (cheese is so hard to give up!), but was eating way too much junky « vegan » foods. Since discovering you on KZbin, I have felt inspired to eat better, more wholesome, home-cooked meals. I’ve lost a few pounds in the last week too! My changes are gradual but moving forward towards a healthier lifestyle. Thanks for being authentic to your true self and to your purpose! 💕

Javant, I just discovered your KZbin channel (I don't do IG) and I'm impressed. Every day I have a 3-quart salad with over 20 different plants, so I took notice of your big salads. Incidentally, I got the plant variety idea from Dr. Will Bulciewicz, author of "Fiber Fueled". He's known for recommending we eat at least 30 different plants daily to develop and maintain a healthy gut microbiome. I'm 76 and enjoy perfect health and an ideal weight. Fitness for me is bicycling at least 10,000 miles a year. And I take no pills. I'll be trying out some your recipes soon, starting with the almond flour pie crust. Are you gluten-free? In scanning your content, I picked up on your avoidance of wheat. You also mentioned glyphosate-free oats somewhere. Often, glyphosate spraying of wheat in the U.S. is a problem for some, even if gluten is not. I don't have a problem with wheat, so when make my own whole-grain bread, 60% of it is whole wheat. Jim P
@healthyveganeating2 күн бұрын
Yes, I am big on food diversity and abundance. I have a video showing what I eat in a day in my HV App, and on that particular day I ate about 64 different foods. I don't eat any wheat, although I acknowledge that organic, whole wheat berries are healthy. It's the refining of wheat, and other products, that I avoid. 👌🏾

@@sandracarli1110 I do agree. I dont necessarily do the GBOMBS nor buy into his vitamins etc as I do find a contradiction there. Which is why we have to be selective in what we choose to do and never blindly follow/believe in one particular route. Down 17.5 lbs since Oct 14th. My cravings have completely disappeared. I realize how some foods can just make you crave more and more. I eat nothing made with flour or white sugar. There will be videos of me walking you through my pantry, fridge, and freezer, and providing tips on how to stock your own. I will also show you all of my appliances and share all of the brands I recommend for foods and appliances. There will also be videos covering supplements, how to cook grains ( quinoa & millet ), tips for cooking oil-free, what are the healthiest foods, sleep, positive mindset, and several additional topics.I will also have lots of videos demonstrating my sensible approach to exercise and fitness that I describe as "consistency over intensity." Finally, there will be a calendar for people to schedule virtual cooking sessions with me for both couples and individuals. People can also schedule general Q&A sessions with me. So, it will be very comprehensive and offer lots of guidance information, and support, with new material added weekly. My hope is that lots of people will find the App helpful and empowering! Terrific interview. As an ever evolving nutritional eater, I too resonate most with Dr.Fuhrman and am so happy to have discovered Javant and HealthyEatingVegan on KZbin a few months ago. Unless I missed something, I have not yet seen the mentioned all encompassing app that was due out in November?

"Keep doing what you are doing" is what many physicians say so they can just keep doing what they do and push medications as a way to discount our healthy eating but they really just don't want to get into the conversation.

So true about most, but there are some who appreciate and promote the power of nutrition, fortunately.

Brother please, please, please point us to the place where we can get all the authentic ingredients that you promote. Your meals are the only vegan meals that is not a hassle to make. For instance, there are so many companies that sell fake product ingredients. There was a big olive oil scam that was a billion dollar scam. People thought they were getting authentic olive oil but they were getting unhealthy LDL oils. Also, I was taking men’s vitamins from GNC and discovered the vitamins were loaded with vegetable oil and canola oil. It was so terrible that it cause my LDL cholesterol to rise and I had to stop using it immediately. Also, do you know a way to lower LDL cholesterol fast? Tip: I think it would be solid if you could should people how to make their own vitamins and you could sell them your at home self vitamin making kit. I have traveled the world and realize that the United States is a place of business not health.

I will be sharing the brands that I think are important to use in my App. It doesn't include any oil, but there are some foods that I only buy from specific brands. I do take a few supplements and I use an incredibly clean, well-balanced vegan protein supplement that I recommend.

I would love to bring the HV message to a bigger platform, but I am not good at trying to sell myself. If it happens organically, I am all for it. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi thanks for this podcast. Quick question, interviewer mentioned Nato pulls calcium out of the blood, does that help reduce blood pressure?
@healthyveganeating Жыл бұрын
I haven't heard of that connection, so I am not sure. The idea is that it keeps the calcium from getting oxidized and farming hardened calcium deposits.

Sorry for the delay in responding ... The App is one of the most important projects I have ever put my energy towards, so I love that you want to know more!!! My Healthy Vegan Meal Plan & Lifestyle App will have more than 300 recipes, as well as lots of other helpful features. It will give weekly meal plans and the ability to choose and custom create your favorite recipes into your own personal meal plans. It will be available for phone and desktop, and have the ability to print recipes and grocery lists for recipes you want to make. It should be available in January or early February. Thanks for asking!

Love your cooking, way of teaching etc. the only thing is im not losing . ive gained 9 lbs. What do you suggest?
@healthyveganeating5 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t give a suggestion without knowing a lot more about you, and your situation. There are some general core principles that apply to most people who are trying to lose weight healthily. However, there are also lots of variables that can affect how a person’s approach should be tailored. My HV Support App will be a great tool for information and guidance, as well as over 500 recipes. Also, feel free to DM me on Instagram if you’d like me to elaborate through voice messages.

Listening to you you are a male version of me-I own a Pickle company Homemade, Pickles they are called “The Love Pickles” I also support and promote healthy alternative snacks for children /which I have enlisted a Bakery friend to create them- I also am joining a gym in January 2024 Because I have requested to the powers above to live to be 100 So I also eat homemade 95% of the time And always trying to find a healthier wet version - So I can have my cake and eat it too lol You are super fantastic Congratulations on your journey, onward and upward I am proud to see that. We are not following some of the generational, eating habits, and it is recognizing we do have choices.
