It's good to see some coverage on this proposal, excited for it myself. As for the year-month-day ordering, it's because numbers are written in right-to-left order of ascending value. e.g. 123 = 1*100+2*10+3^1 If you do that for dates you get YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS where each unit to the left is larger than the previous.

It's like 100% like java.time, i guess the followed the same library desing Java as they did with the original Date api from java. for those who don't know the horrible Js date api comes from Java, since Java 8 on 2014 it changed to java.time, it has only took to js designers 7 years to make the change.
