I Wanted A Challenge... [WuWa Swords Only]

I thought that creating a Swords Only account in Wuthering Waves would bring about a challenge when it comes to combat... but not when the game does this...
Wuthering Waves officially released last month, and SO many of you have asked me to make an account where I try to play through the game using only sword-wielding characters. So I have finally decided to give it a shot.
If enough of you enjoy this, we can turn it into a recurring series, and if not, then I'll just slowly play through the game on my own time.
So, can you beat Wuthering Waves using only sword characters? Let's find out...

Fun fact, there's a damage penalty for being lower levek than the enemy, which is why there was suddenly such a huge spike in difficulty after you leveled the world up

The penalty must be really rough cause the mobs in Mt Firmament are just a couple levels up and take way longer to beat

Almost all "fuax rpgs" do this. To this day I disagree with why, it's just to pressure you into leveling up, as opposed to actually having balanced enemy design like an actual RPG would.

@@KingTaltia I can kinda get it so as to deincetivise players at lvl 10 going into higher level areas, but yeah it's annoying, especially where you can feel it even if you have just a gap of 2 or 3 levels

Something that would be smart for Java to think, is that at the making of this video, Spectro Rover is the only Sword character that can heal the party.

@@Thermascorch Its very good actually. On Yangyang who has low self damage, it can be used with a full healing set and a healing weapon to trigger the 5 pieces passive. Thats a 25% atk boost for the whole party just for having her comming in and Ult+Skill+Echo every 20s

I don't know if advice is warranted or wanted, since java like the genshin/gacha expert and all, but homie prob won't see this anyways. [UL49] if you don't like using echos that transform you and get you hit, you can use ones that just spawn and do they're thing, I don't personally think they are as good, but it's personal preference, i use flame rider for my encore, and most of the time i get hit through it. i'm not sure if your focusing on a certain element or not, but you could even use the echos that heal you, Or go fight the giant turtle and use it's shield echo. [or you could use the shield one on your second character then just switch to first and use the transforming echo] I will say (imo) you should focus on getting your data bank level up as sooon as possible, that way you can get gold echos and start leveling them up like artifacts. You can track monsters from the Data bank 2nd page, like track the "??" then just farm to the highest rarity. (Or search up red elite monsters, and go fight/mark those, as every kill either drops a purple or gold echo regardless of your data bank level) (Though some are stupid hard) You get increased echo drop chance if you check the data bank, up to like 15 times i think. So at db21 you could fight a overlord/calamity 15 times and get a gold echo drop all 15 times. Also, difficulty choice doesn't affect echo rarity, you could fight dreamless or the new boss since they in portals, choose the lowest difficulty, and farm echos for it. (once you get too high of a UL it will say you won't get them for the lowest difficulty, but then just move up a level. [If you need to farm dreamless or new dragon, they only ones so far that can lower difficulty for quick farming, scar maybe, i don't remember] Also, you can do each weekly boss, 3 times per week. Like you can fight/claim Dreamless's weekly drops 3 times. It's super nice. Might not be the best advice, and maybe others will say against it, but it's worked for me as a basically Solo encore main.

Overlord class Echoes, which are all transformation based, are basically BIS for damage for now _(execpt Mourning Aix which got powercrept by Jue)_ because they have a damage buff baked in their active skill. However for a sword only account locked out of healing, they could absolutely use other option for better survivability, like the Cruisewing for healing, or the Lumiscale Construct for parrying

So for some basic information on echos pretty much every character wants the calamity class the corresponds with their type, though when it comes to dreamless and crownless for the havocs they use crownless. Only one to not follow this path so far is Verina but she isn’t a sword user so you don’t have to worry about that.

Everything in here is mostly correct up until you said the havoc characters want to use crownless. That is completely false as dreamless is currently one of the strongest echoes in the game and one of the reasons why havoc rover + Danjin is so broken since you can just animation cancel both dreamless echoes and insta kill most common enemies

@@Sloth-tr7bd nope. Dreamless does a boatload of damage and is easily animation canceled but crownless is not easily animation canceled and doesn’t do great damage. Only useful to use crownless in a 4-4-1-1-1 echo cost setup

There are a good chunk of characters who don’t follow this at all. Most healers want Rejuvenating glow, this also applies to characters who choose to run the orignite weapon series (Yuanwu, Jianxin, etc). Characters with quick concerto generation (Sanhua, Mortefi, etc) want Moonlit Clouds. Any main dps (Encore, Havoc MC, Jiyan, etc) does want their corresponding elemental set though.

funnily enough, changlis weapon seems to be very strong on 3 characters 2 of which you have. spectro rover and sanhua and of course changli (not sure on how well havoc will perform with it alongside the other sword users with it but you could use spectro rover as a healer due to her wavebands)

I'm also doing a sword only challenge in wuwa with java I have a question I have 65 pity on limited banner and gonna get 10 pulls from the login event anyways so should I keep pulling for changli if I lose 5050 or just get 2 or if lucky three changli signatures ( I have two standard 5 star swords )

I’ll have to disagree on changlis weapon being very strong on sanhua as she won’t benefit much from the res skill%. The three characters that will find the most use out of it (besides changli) is Spectro rover, havoc rover, and danjin. With that being said I never even considered utilizing spectro rovers healing. Honestly that could be an interesting use of their kit since they are outmatched in every other way by havoc rover. Playing them in the support role over Yangyang could actually work. However, we’d need more sword characters before we can do that since havoc rover is a core part of almost every team in this case.

@@arcanegorgonuschanglis sonaces seem quite underwhelming. Changlis weapon is also not that much stronger than the standard 5 star sword on most sword characters. My recommendation is get an S0 Changli and her signature and then call it there

@@Grand.Master_Cow the reason id say sanhua would work well with the sword is because of the fact her ice detonates scale with skill damage%. i think it works best when sanhua is run as a main dps as her non enhanced heavy attack can very easily gain the feather stacks to then do a big burst when you ult > enhanced heavy to detonate and as its going through skill for a burst

Hey, Java! If you're worried about being caught in a long animation when using an echo, you might want to look into swap cancelling. By swapping to another character after activating an echo's ability, you can avoid being stuck in the animation and the echo will still remain on field, so you don't lose any damage. Hope to see more wuthering waves content from you, but you're enjoyable nonetheless.

echos are like artifacts in genshin impact, the different types of echos give different buffs, healing bonus, spectro damage, havoc damage, etc.. just 5x easier to farm

Havoc Rover actually works very well with Danjin but she also works with Sanhua both as sub dps and since there are no sword healers you can use both in the team lol

My tip get this one turtle echo that gives u an shield also only use achos in ur first slot wich u can summon not those u transform into there are only 2 or 3 one that are good for transformation maybe 5 i have not tried every echo yet gorilla wind bird wolf thingy oh and i forgot about the cryo world boss thats in the cave this one is good as well also look at the stads and the sub effects its basicly jsut like genshin artifacts

7:28 Echoes are mostly straightforward from what I can tell. For DPS characters the primary seems to be whatever boss of their element with crit main stat the three costs being elemental damage bonus and the 1 costs being attack. The set is also usually just whatever element the character is. Of course you CAN also just Google it...
