This coming Tuesday there will be a talk about the development of this iconic aircraft held at the Great Gonerby Social Club,Grantham ( 19:30 for 20:00 ).
All welcomed by the Grantham Aviation Society.
This clip contains digitised and restored original RAF & Gloster Aircraft official photos from the family archives.
The story begins at RAF West Raynham in Norfolk at the CFE, through production and development at Glosters, and frontline deployment at 23 Squadron at RAF Coltishall.
Expect discussion about spins, gun pressure of Adens and the Daily Express

Very true and being a small child walking around the flight line with my Navigator dad at RAF Coltishall ( as you could in those days ) the aircraft seemed massive ... nowadays, if you can find one, not so much ( there is a static at the Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum )

One of the physics teachers at my school had been a navigator on the Javelin and ejected twice. One he admitted was his fault - he steered it in to a hill.
