I think coach jav already explained that only khabib trained 100% with him and the father, other fighters they have their own coach, so he just play the head coach role, plan for strategy and mental the rest settle by their own coaches

Javier Mendez isn't Islam's coach, stop with this nonsense. He is just a mentor for them, nothing more. Islam's striking coach is Magomed Bagandov, his taekwondo coach is Seifulla Magomedov and the master mind behind the gameplans is Khabib.

He was made an honorary coach by Khabib after he retired, Khabib’s loyalty is different level. They could have just left Javier and AKA they don’t need him, but Khabib is a real Muslim and respects his elders. He doesn’t even speak Russian so when they talk he doesn’t understand anything that’s going on. But they respect him so that’s all that matters.

Islam staff + Poirier 2 broken ribs cancels out. The threat of takedowns doesn’t make Islam a better striker. It simply removes Dustin’s ability to put combos together. That said, Islam was the better fighter & deserves to be champion. Just don’t get the details twisted.
