If you ad an in and out marker to a clip preview and then use the buttons below (drag only sound or video) dragging them to the timeline it will set to the timeline only the work area of the previewed clip. That's a good one too 👍

Having a shortcut to razor all clips, another shortcut to ripple delete, and locking music is how I've handled it (especially because it varies whether I need top layers moving with the edit or not). The Q shortcut is the one I didn't know; I'll have to try it.

I use the razor tool, my husband and I make fantasy videos on a fantasy geographic channel and I have to use tons of cuts because of the way he records his script -- the ripple delete will most likely improve my speed and the ease of editing which is amazing. It'll take some time to learn and get used to, but, it'll be worth it. Thank you for your expertise. Your videos really are CUTTING edge, har harrr~ (for real though they are great thank you)

Wow, as a beginner I really appreciate this tutorial! Razor tool selection felt so clunky in comparison to another program I've used before, where you could just press T and it was cut. Selecting the tracks in the targetting and then just Ctrl + K while going through the footage saves so much time! I don't know why so many tutorials online only show you the more complicated ways.
@tony925063 жыл бұрын
cool video and I really liked your Q edit, and how to make the trim command more automatic. However, for ripple delete editing it is only three steps with the razor tool. Cut, Cut, right-click ripple delete. Though your Q cut is very cool and takes it down to 2 steps! Which is now going to be my main way of editing. Thank you for this awesome tutorial!

Thank you!!! I'm a Resolve user. But I'm forcing myself to become proficient in using Premiere Pro and Avid Media Composer so that I'm able to work with whatever software I'm required to use for a specific project. I almost thought there was no way to make a cut with a single button press (in my case its "R"). But it turns out Adobe thought "Add Edit" would be the ideal name🤣

Sorry, I am late to the party here, but your video is excellent! Informative AND entertaining. It would have been so much easier to just do this as a "talking head"; I really appreciate the extra effort you took to make this interesting to watch.
