I have since sold the tool box, minus the side cabinet, for more than I paid for everything! I love the side cabinet!

The fella who owned that was a mechanic in the 80s im guessing...That is a professional mechanics set...that box has 7-10 thousand in tools...Im a 35 year mechanic veteran and that box is the greatest example of what most of our tool boxes looked like in the 80s before all these monster boxes...my god that is a thing of beauty!!!!Congrats!!

I agree with the dating, I'd say he probably started his career in the 70s based on some of the tools I found! My son is starting off in the field and we had a great time putting together his first tool box! Would've made the original owner proud!

Very nice deal man. Good to see the box went to a good home. Sometimes you yourself have to poke around to find the opportunity. Congrats

Thank you, and you are correct, whenever you see a good deal, ask about any other items that may be for sale from the same seller, you may find a real bargain! Thanks for watching!

Thanks, I agree that luck played a role, however, whenever I buy anything I always ask if they have anything else for sale. In this case, I got lucky when the seller said YES!

Why would you offer that when he didn't have any interest in tools , you only looked in 1 drawer. If the box was Snap on I could believe it. What was in the drawer you looked at?

6 air tools including 2 1/2" impacts, various accessories ALL made in U.S. including CP and Bluepoint. The top of the box weighed so much I couldn't lift it so I knew it was FULL of tools. I did not want him to sell it to someone else, since I had to go and get my truck and $.

The person who sold that to you was obviously ignorant and had no idea the actual cost. That's why I don't really consider this a deal, but more like sometimes you get lucky and find someone who is dumb.
@HowToHeaven
@HowToHeaven 2 жыл бұрын
I disagree with your definition, a good deal is when you pay substantially less than market price (and the goods are NOT stolen). But you say in order to be a deal you have to have a person that knows what he has and then sells it for less? FYI: the person that sold this came to town to settle his parents estate as they were going into home care. He was well aware that these tools were valuable, as I discussed this with him. I asked him why he wasn't taking them to another state with him, and he replied that they weighed too much and he didn't want to ship them. So according to your definition of a good deal, I believe this qualifies! Thanks for watching!
@qzetu
@qzetu 2 жыл бұрын
@@HowToHeaven technically your definition is correct. I only said it wasn't a deal because it is not a common occurrence like you make it seem. This is something that rarely if ever happens. If you would have stated all that information in the video, this conversation would have never happened.

Considering he lived in another state and was just having a fire sale, he might have taken $50! On my end, I did take a chance because I didn't check any of the other drawers, but I made what I thought to be a fair offer, for just the tool box, in case the other drawers were full of junk! I'm happy! Thanks for watching my videos!
