This video brings back such happy memories for me. I owned a Jawa 350 Type 640R in the 90s. Seriously thinking about getting another one to have as second bike to my Himalayan.

My Dad had CZ's and Jawas most of his motorcycling life. He found them great commuting bikes. Frustrating, occasionally, but they got the job done. You could hear the 350 two blocks away (and our Spaniel further than that). One of my favourite motorcycle sounds Thanks for sharing. (Interesting colour btw)

I love it's quirkiness and reliability. The colour is because F2 motorcycles did a limited edition of 10 military style ones. I'm not sure but i think mine is number 7.

@@motorbikerscosmeticcompany1594 Fondest memory - or not - an evening spent with the engine hanging halfway out of the oven, when some major maintenance was needed! 😮 Dad never got around to going for his car test. When he attempted "four wheel" driving he couldn't help but do that throttle blip when changing gear!

Nice I've got the retro same engine but modelled to look like a Jawa 634. I've got a squire chair on it and it's sweet.

For a two stroke they're pretty economical. Literature says ~5.5L/100km. I've got this one breathing better and it pulls much better than standard but I've not had to re jet the carb so if anything it should have improved the mpg. Iridium plugs have made a big difference too, definitely recommend a set of those. I've never purposely tested the range but I run around on it and don't seem to have to fill up very often. When I do ~£5 fills the tank.

Which iridium plugs have you used - make and code? Just for info. I get between 60 to 65mpg (3.9 l/100k)

@@stevetaylor8698 S Jawou 350 motor 638 nejezdím po dálnici. Na ostatních silnicích pro mne nejlepší cestovní rychlost, při které si užívám sledovat krajinu a zvuku výfuků je 73 až 80 kilometrů v hodině. Má průměrná spotřeba je 3,46 litrů benzínu na 100 kilomatrů.

I doubt you will be able to buy a new one in Germany. EU has banned sale of two strokes. Might be able to get one from Jawa moto in Czech republic and have it shipped to Germany. There is an importer in UK that sells them called F2 motorcycles, they might ship to your country. I think you would be ok buying an older one in Germany though that is already registered.

I like that sound , in Turkey has my Unkle some of Jawa 250 from 1958 modell when i was a little Boy now i am 45 years and if i seen this video on you tube i was so happy to buy some one of this nice sounding Jawa motocycle . @@motorbikerscosmeticcompany1594 I'm saving up for one. They cost nearly five grand once you've added luggage, decent mirrors + tyres. I bought a second hand Jawa reg AE15 CPV two years ago but it's the 640 version which wasnt exactly what I wanted . They're like gold dust second hand.

What's the build quality like on these? Got my eye on the 350 OHC but seeing alot online about poor reliability?

The build quality is rough and ready but they are extremely reliable. They have got a reputation because being a relatively cheap bike, people bought them who were on a budget and as a result didn't maintain them properly with heath robinson repairs and make do and mend. Service them properly and they'll go forever. That said I've not owned the 4stroke which i think is a copy of a honda, built with chinese parts. Personally, i'm not a great fan of honda to start with and this is a chinese copy. The ohc isn't a Jawa but a generic Chinese bike with Jawa badges. The bike itself is dependable as its old Japanese technology but the peripherals like rear chain and rear shocks are a bit nasty and will need upgrading. The old 2t like this is more fun and quirky.

F2 motorcycles in Cambridge still import them from Czeck republic. They sometimes have second hand for sale but not many. They carry all spares etc. Hard to find second hand in uk as most who get them tend to keep them. I’ve noticed more second hand ones for sale in Germany. I’m assuming you’re in India. Not sure how you’d ship one now due to two stroke laws, especially a new one. You might get away with a second hand one.

They do about 60 miles per gallon which equates to 5l/100km. Ive got one. For its performance the economy is pretty rubbish but we don't care.

@@barnbersonol well, its old 2stroke 343cc. I also own one and it can take even 7l/100km. It takes a lot of skill to learn how to drive these bikes effectively. The main thing is to keep them in their power band in 3k rpm and never under rpm it. If you learn how to drive it, you can achieve 4l/100km and keep up with traffic.

@@sodiumchloride7788 the hard part is remember to find neutral before you stop at a red. If you forget you then have to turn off the engine to find neutral or keep your foot on the clutch til the lights change but again I don't care because I LOVE MY JAWA 350.

@@barnbersonol well really? Do you have your clutch adjusted right? I have no problem to shift neutrals when standing still and engine running. The gearbox Is so rough, that i can feel which gear i have based only on the feeling and i can easily recognise when i shift neutral. Its old, but honest machinery and when maintained right its very reliable. Wish you luck and many happy kilometers (or miles) with your Jawa. I own one too and love it. P.S. try to rebuild your clutch and change gear oil. It can help with shifting.

@@sodiumchloride7788 my clutch is ok. Ive had the jawa from new and it's always been the same just like the MZs I owned before it Had it 5 years done 33000 miles.with new rings pistons small end bearings and rebore at 24000 miles
