@RedElephantStampede7 жыл бұрын
You young folks can't imagine what it was like to have 200 people in the theater in 1976. We couldn't get in to the theater for a year! When we did the audience reaction (including myself) was staggering! When Brody "killed the beast" the place went NUTS! And when Hooper and Brody headed for shore, the place erupted with a stand-up clapping roar! Of course I was only 9 years old at the time (it was much more liberal at that time. I saw KISS the same year). Anyway, JAWS is the greatest film I've ever seen.

RedElephantStampede thanks man for sharing.I love old good times like the 80's. For me reading you and trying to imagine the theater in the 70's while playing these last scenes made me smile.I am so into those times.I wish time stopped there. In the 70's/80's. I don't see myself sort of speaking in these days.A world full of hate,of killing,of destruction,of selfishness,of rage,lack of values,lack of respect. Call me old fashion. Yeah I'm old school.But don't tell me that nowadays we don't live in a time where it's all about "me".A sick immature futile egocentric frozen society. I miss the social cultural connection between human beings. I grew up in a time where children played with each other for hours outside home.We interacted together as a specie.As humans.And we felt precisely like that...as humans! Kids nowadays just play portable PlayStation.Tablets at home.No friends. Technology is kid's friends today.Couples and other adults sit at a dining table and don't talk.They look at their smartphones or tablets.Families no longer communicate like we did in the past.Everything nowadays it's about being connected,fast information.I could go on with thousands of examples from the past and today's day. For what?kids that read me will say i am an old man.I am 32.lol But i miss what we were as humans.I try to pass it to my children but it's an hard task because the example that comes from media from all the info industry it's almost impossible to fight with words. Anyway i saw all jaws movies.1st one was epic. p.s.: sorry my english. not my native language.not perfect but i guess i made my point.

As close as you can get to the perfect film. The shark was almost irrelevant. Just a story about the three character's struggles, and why they're on that boat.
@dan_hitchman0074 жыл бұрын
That's because "Bruce" the shark almost never worked. Spielberg, Scheider, Shaw, and Dreyfuss got together in a motel room on Martha's Vineyard when the production was about to go under and re-wrote the entire script, plus Steven allowed his talented cast to ad lib and add their own acting cues to their characters - they went with their gut instincts and it worked brilliantly. Shaw wrote the famous U.S.S. Indianapolis speech and told it while they were actually half drunk on the boat set.

Man vs Nature, just splendid. What a masterpiece from Spielberg. They guy that knew the less about sharks, ended up killing the monster, this also happens in real life, those that you less expect, those are the ones that end up saving the day.❤

The roar sound you hear as the shark carcass drifts to the bottom of the ocean is the same sound that was heard when the truck goes over the cliff in Duel. Spielberg put that in as a tribute to Duel, for helping him get to the stage of his career to have done Jaws.

Sound effects are much better than the remastered version.. I missed the sounds the m1 makes when Brody checks the magazine

@AMP2883 as a secondary option the 2005 DVD and blu ray have the original mono audio you can select at the menu in the "audio options" section
Please Hollywood, don’t try to remake this movie classic!

Just imagine Hooper's situation if Brody hadn't managed to shoot the shark in the end. He would've had to watch the shark eat Brody and then realize that the boat is destroyed, and that his only way to get back to land is by swimming. In other words, he would've had to wait for the shark to eat him too.

the tension built up at the end is spectacular. especially when the mast he is holding on to sinks into the water. losing his height advantage. the stakes are high and there is no way out
