Best Pennsylvania steam locomotives! Strasburg Railroad 611 / 382 Photo Charter 2019, Stewartstown Railroad steam train special, double headed steam train and more! 5 operating steam locomotives in Pa in two days. My first stop was North Central Railroad in New Freedom, Pennsylvania. After filming that replica steam locomotive a worker for NCRR told me about the steam locomotive visiting the Stewartstown Railroad. I filmed that one which was Jeddo Coal Company 85 that the Gramblings brought down from Indiana. Then I went to Strasburg Railroad for the Lerro Productions Photo Charter with N&W 611 and N&W 382. I bought one of the $200 tickets for the Monday photo charter. That is the only way to get a good video of a steam train without people and cars ruining the shot. We also got access to areas other people could not get to and we got to shoot a double header steam train with professional photo lines. We rode the train to several different spots and got to film it from Amish owned farms near Strasburg, Pennsylvania. I will be posting more videos of this when I get the time to put them together. This video is just a quick compilation video that I put together showing the 5 operating steam locomotives that I filmed over a two day period from October 6 through October 7, 2019 AD. On the way to film these trains and on the way back home I stopped at Elizabeth, Pennsylvania south of Pittsburgh to film some street running freight trains. I got 3 of them, so look for those also. Wow! Way cool. Another outstanding video compilation. Lot's to enjoy on this episode. Steamers, doubleheaders, tractors, track side views, on board peeks, passenger and freight cars & K-booses too(how we say it in Kin tuck). I appreciate your logistical planning to make this happen. Cudos to your "pace" car driver in keeping up with ol # 85 around the 2:38 mark.

WOW! I consider this as a remake of the Polar Express! I love their horns! This reminds me of when I worked for Smith security as a security officer here in Austin TX in 1994, They put me on 12 hour graveyard shift duty at Austin Steam Train in Cedar Park Tx where they kept the steam engine, Passenger cars & caboose stored AFTER each tour ride to burnet Tx behind an HEB grocery store on Rd FM 1431. We were put there to keep people from sneaking around & getting in the passenger cars at night, It was mainly teenagers, BEFORE they put security there, They were using the cars for explict purposes and trash them. But I remember the engine was still cooling down part of the night & it was pretty warm so that was how I stayed warm because it was in the winter months. We had no guard booth. However, They kept the caboose available & open for us officers to sit in to warm up, They kept a carosine fuel stove on to keep the caboose warm for us. The first time I have actually got to be up close & personal to such great engine! & A caboose! Even sitting in it was so amazing! Long as I made my foot patrol rounds & not mess with anything it was all good! I even talked to the conductor every morning when my shift ended & I asked about how much a ticket to ride the train to burnet cost and told me: NOTHING for you! You are an officer! We will cover you a free ride on the house! But I never got a chance to ride, Because I worked 12 hour shifts for the security company everyday. Oh excuse my misspells please. Thank you. Sorry for the essay. I just wanted to put that on the table because this video reminded me of my experience of being a guard for such beautiful engines & their counterparts. Gotta love Em! Oh, By the way I saw that caboose! I gave my cowbell a ding ding! Ha! Thanks for sharing!

Nice one JT. We're really lucky here in the UK 'cause the railway didn't get rid of steam till '68 and many locos were preserved. One of the scrap yards (see Dai Woodhams Barry Island phenomenon) didn't cut up 100+ locos and sold them to preservation groups. We now have more preserved lines and locos than you can shake a stick at. Loving no.90, I'm a sucker for a 2-10-0. Thank you sir.

I don't know here Jaw Tooth I think you may have out done yourself on this one! Those are some unbelievable views of some beautiful train engines in all their glory. Your trip was really worth it I would say. I sure hope you think so. To me these engines are just as important as the Big Boy and you didn't have to fight the tremendous crowds and traffic. These engines did their job in the day just as it did making them just as important as it. The beautiful first engine makes you wonder if it was always a polished model as it is now like maybe the engine used by the owner of that railroad and has always been kept up like that. You have some great sounding whistles and some engineers who truly know how to operate them to get that great sound! There are also some incredible coaches on these trains also. I really like seeing the double header and especially up so close to be able to hear the power in them as they approach and pass you by. Great Great video! The people of Pennsylvania are very lucky to have these treasures. Nice job Jaws!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking at the thumbnail, I thought: "Cool - he's going to show some model sets!" I clicked immediately - nope, they were the real thing! I was not disappointed - real or model, there's nothing like a steam engine getting underway...& some people wanted a #bikepath - pshh! What do those people know, anyway? One thing, however: I kept seeing this thing at the end of a couple of trains...looked like a small house on wheels where the traincrew could hang out when they weren't busy - what are those? XD
